Phosphorus availability and speciation in the fertosphere of three soils over 12 months

open access: yesGeoderma
Identifying the effects of soil properties on the transformations of phosphorus (P) in highly concentrated fertiliser bands is a critical component in improving P fertiliser use efficiency, but little is known regarding the kinetics of P transformation ...

Gold Nanoclusters as Dual Agents for Engineering Tumor Vascular Leakiness and Performing Photothermal Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Many cancer nanotherapeutics, while potent, suffer from the inability to escape from the tumor vasculature, especially in the absence of endothelial permeability. In this work, ultrasmall gold nanoclusters could engineer nanomaterials induced endothelial leakiness (NanoEL) and harness strong NIR induced photothermal characteristics to suppress tumor ...

Engineered Protein‐Based Ionic Conductors for Sustainable Energy Storage Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Rational incorporation of charged residues into an engineered, self‐assembling protein scaffold yields solid‐state protein films with outstanding ionic conductivity. Salt‐doping further enhances conductivity, an effect amplified in the engineered variants. These properties enable the material integration into an efficient supercapacitor.

Nitrogen 15 abundance in protein fractions of beans fertilized with (15NH4)2SO4

open access: yesScientia Agricola, 2002
Studies evaluating the protein nutritive value of beans labelled with 15N, ussing nitrogen balance and the quantitation of faecal and urinary endogenous nitrogen, determined by isotopic dilution, have been extensively used. The objective of this research

Magnesium isotopes: a tool to understand self-enrichment in Globular Clusters

open access: yes, 2018
A critical issue in the asymptotic giant branch (AGB) self-enrichment scenario for the formation of multiple populations in Globular Clusters (GCs) is the inability to reproduce the magnesium isotopic ratios, despite the model in principle can account ...

Chlorine isotope composition in chlorofluorocarbons CFC-11, CFC-12 and CFC-113 in firn, stratospheric and tropospheric air [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The stratospheric degradation of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) releases chlorine, which is a major contributor to the destruction of stratospheric ozone (O3).
