Genetic variation within and among naturally regenerating populations of alder (Alnus glutinosa)
To assess the inter- and intrapopulation genetic variation in the filial generation (F1) of alder (Alnus glutinosa (L.) Gaertn.), 11 naturally regenerated populations were analysed. Their parental populations (P), represent the whole Polish territory and

Wheat-barley hybridization – the last forty years [PDF]
Several useful alien gene transfers have been reported from related species into wheat (Triticum aestivum), but very few publications have dealt with the development of wheat/barley (Hordeum vulgare) introgression lines. An overview is given here of

Graphical abstract illustrating the development of quinoa protein (QP) nanocarriers for the encapsulation of resveratrol (RSV) and tocopherol (TOC). ABSTRACT The objective of this work was to generate and characterize complexes of quinoa proteins (QP) with either resveratrol (RSV) or tocopherol (TOC) whose dimensions fell into the nanoscale.

Metabolism and Metabolic Inhibition of Xanthotoxol in Human Liver Microsomes [PDF]
Cytochrome p450 (CYP450) enzymes are predominantly involved in Phase I metabolism of xenobiotics. In this study, the CYP450 isoforms involved in xanthotoxol metabolism were identified using recombinant CYP450s.

Contemporary Applications of Chemical Libraries for Drug Discovery and Methods for Their Synthesis
Screening of chemical libraries has over the past decades become a cornerstone of drug discovery. Today, a broad range of chemical libraries exist but they are often not well described in terms of diversity. This review describes current efforts which aim to visualize chemical diversity in compound collections and discuss current trends in synthetic ...

Construction of an integrated consensus map of the Apple genome based on four mapping populations [PDF]
An integrated consensus genetic map for apple was constructed on the basis of segregation data from four genetically connected crosses (C1¿=¿Discovery × TN10-8, C2¿=¿Fiesta × Discovery, C3¿=¿Discovery × Prima, C4¿=¿Durello di Forli × Fiesta) with a total

Isocitrate Dehydrogenase Mutations in Cancer: From Bench to Bedside Applications
Mutant isocitrate dehydrogenase affects multiple cancer types. Alterations in IDH1 and IDH2 result in abnormal enzyme activity, leading to the overproduction of D‐2‐hydroxyglutarate (D‐2HG). This metabolite disrupts cellular metabolism and epigenetic regulation, driving cancer initiation, progression, and metastasis.
