Secondary Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP) Associated with ChAdOx1 Covid-19 Vaccination – A Case Report

open access: yesTH Open, 2021
Novel mRNA and vector-based covid-19 vaccinations have shown high efficacy in preventing symptomatic COVID-19 infections. Compared with the number of performed vaccinations, rates of severe side effects seem low.

Use of Immunosuppression, Romiplostim, and Splenectomy to Achieve Remission in a British Shorthair Cat With Primary Immune-Mediated Thrombocytopenia. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Vet Intern Med
ABSTRACT A 2‐year‐old female spayed British Shorthair cat was diagnosed with immune‐mediated thrombocytopenia (ITP) after presenting with a 3‐week history of gastrointestinal bleeding and anemia. Treatment with an immunosuppressive dose of glucocorticoids was initiated, but relapse occurred within 3 weeks.

Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) World Impact Survey (iWISh): Patient and physician perceptions of diagnosis, signs and symptoms, and treatment

open access: yesAmerican journal of hematology/oncology, 2020
Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is now well‐known to reduce patients' health‐related quality of life. However, data describing which signs and symptoms patients and physicians perceive as having the greatest impact are limited, as is understanding the full

Isolated zeros destroy Fermi surface in holographic models with a lattice

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
We study the fermionic spectral density in a strongly correlated quantum system described by a gravity dual. In the presence of periodically modulated chemical potential, which models the effect of the ionic lattice, we explore the shapes of the ...

Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) World Impact Survey (I‐WISh): Impact of ITP on health‐related quality of life

open access: yesAmerican journal of hematology/oncology, 2020
Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) has a substantial, multifaceted impact on patients' health‐related quality of life (HRQoL). Data describing which aspects of ITP physicians and patients perceive as having the greatest impact are limited.

The ‘T’ in ITP remains [PDF]

open access: yesCleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine, 2012
The “I” has changed its meaning and the “P” is not necessary to make the diagnosis, but the disease formerly known as idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) remains important to diagnose.

Lenalidomide-Associated ITP [PDF]

open access: yesCase Reports in Hematology, 2011
Lenalidomide is a potent immunomodulatory agent being used increasingly for treatment of hematologic malignancies including multiple myeloma and myelodysplasia. The common toxicities of lenalidomide, including dose-limiting myelosuppression, are well described.

Pathogenesis and Therapeutic Mechanisms in Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP)

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Medicine, 2017
Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is a complex autoimmune disease characterized by low platelet counts. The pathogenesis of ITP remains unclear although both antibody-mediated and/or T cell-mediated platelet destruction are key processes.
