Targeted metabolomics reveals the optimal harvest time of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in an emerging high‐altitude tropical region

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, Volume 106, Issue 9, Page 5614-5628, July 2026.
Abstract BACKGROUND Climate change has driven the expansion of viticulture in high‐altitude tropical regions. The dynamics of grape ripening and its metabolic profile are influenced by climatic conditions. This study aimed to identify the optimal harvest period for Cabernet Sauvignon grapes cultivated in an emerging Brazilian high‐altitude region using

Efficacy of Vitex pseudo‐negundo in a Bovine Mastitis Model Experimentally Induced by Staphylococcus aureus in Rats

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 4, July 2026.
This study evaluated the therapeutic efficacy of Vitex pseudo‐negundo (VPN) extracts in a Staphylococcus aureus‐induced mastitis rat model. Following extraction with water, methanol and petroleum ether, in vitro MICs were determined. Rats established with mastitis received 5‐day treatments.

Spectrum of Hypogonadism and Its Management in Adolescents With Prader‐Willi Syndrome: A Retrospective Cohort Study Over 35 Years

open access: yesClinical Endocrinology, Volume 105, Issue 1, Page 51-59, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Context Adult data indicate that hypogonadism is underdiagnosed and undertreated in Prader‐Willi Syndrome (PWS). Objectives We aimed to describe the spectrum of pubertal development, and the diagnosis and treatment of hypogonadism in paediatric/adolescent patients with PWS. Design/Patients A retrospective cohort study of patients with PWS aged

When the Group Agrees: Explaining Collective Recommendations From Core to Consensus

open access: yesExpert Systems, Volume 43, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Finding an appropriate explanation for generated recommendations has become vital for increasing trustworthiness in current recommender systems (RSs). While the generation of explanations for recommendations aimed at individuals has recently received further study, explanations for group recommender systems (GRSs) scenarios remain inadequate ...

Challenges and Opportunities for Strengthening Bottom‐Tow Fisheries Sustainability

open access: yesFish and Fisheries, Volume 27, Issue 4, Page 987-1005, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Bottom‐tow gear fisheries (trawls and dredges) produce ~24 million mt of harvest annually, representing a globally important animal‐sourced food system. While many are currently sustainably managed, growing concern over the potential for ecosystem impacts from bottom‐tow gears has increased pressure to improve these fisheries.

Responses of Fruit Flies (Diptera: Tephritidae) to Protein Bait Applied at Different Densities

open access: yesJournal of Applied Entomology, Volume 150, Issue 6, Page 736-742, July 2026.
ABSTRACT The effectiveness of odour‐based lures for insects is related to their active space, the air volume around an odour source in which an insect will detect and move towards it. This principle applies to protein baits laced with toxicants that are used as either sprays or stations to suppress pest fruit fly populations.

Efficiency in the Global Prison System: A Systematic Literature Review and Bibliometric Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Economic Surveys, Volume 40, Issue 3, Page 1446-1462, July 2026.
ABSTRACT This study systematizes the international literature on prison system efficiency, highlighting patterns and research gaps through a multidimensional framework. By situating efficiency within broader institutional, social, and rights‐based contexts, it examines how academic research has assessed carceral performance.

Effect of Oxygen Content on Surface and Subsurface Integrity During Turning of Ti–6Al–4V

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 12, 17 June 2026.
This study examines how oxygen content in the ambient atmosphere affects the surface and subsurface properties of Ti–6Al–4V during turning. Results show that oxygen does not influence surface roughness. However, machining in an extremely high vacuum‐adequate atmosphere increases surface hardness by up to 7.8% and induces compressive residual stresses ...
