A Long‐Lived Human Neurovascular PENTA Culture Model Captures Incomplete Vascular Repair and Glia‐Associated Signaling After Traumatic Brain Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A long‐lived, five‐cell‐type human neurovascular (PENTA) model recreates vascular disorganization and incomplete repair after traumatic brain injury (TBI). By integrating endothelial, glial, neuronal, and immune components within a 3D scaffold, the platform enables time‐resolved analysis of neurovascular remodeling and provides a human‐relevant system ...

Screening for Janus kinase-2 exon 12 mutations among Janus kinase-2 V617F-negative polycythemia vera suspected Iraqi patients

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Hematology
BACKGROUND: Diagnosis of myeloproliferative neoplasms including polycythemia vera (PV) has been greatly improved following the identification of driver mutations at exon 12 and exon 14 of the Janus Kinase 2 (JAK2) gene. There are limited academic studies

Clinical characteristics of a patient with de novo acute promyelocytic leukemia with JAK2 v617f mutation

open access: yesHematology, 2022
Background: The V617F mutation of Janus-associated kinase 2 (JAK2) is common in myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN). JAK2 V617F mutation can be detected in patients with de novo acute myeloid leukemia (AML), but de novo acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL ...

The SMAC mimetic LCL-161 selectively targets JAK2V617F mutant cells. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Background:Evasion from programmed cell death is a hallmark of cancer and can be achieved in cancer cells by overexpression of inhibitor of apoptosis proteins (IAPs).

TYK2 promotes malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor progression through inhibition of cell death [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
BACKGROUND: Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNSTs) are aggressive sarcomas that arise most commonly in the setting of the Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1) cancer predisposition syndrome.

Nanotherapies for Atherosclerosis: Targeting, Catalysis, and Energy Transduction

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Atherosclerosis management is hindered by poor drug targeting and plaque heterogeneity. Nanotechnology overcomes these barriers via three core strategies: (1) target‐engineered nanocarriers that achieve lesion‐specific precision via ligand modification, biomimetic camouflage, stimuli‐responsive release, and self‐propelling nanomotors; (2) catalytic ...

Involvement of JAK2 and MAPK on type II nitric oxide synthase expression in skin-derived dendritic cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
In this report, we demonstrate that a fetal mouse skin-derived dendritic cell line produces nitric oxide (NO) in response to the endotoxin [lipopolysaccharide (LPS)] and to cytokines [tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) and granulocyte-macrophage ...

Seta‐Inspired Mechano‐Intelligent Janus Bandage with Coordinated Adhesion–Contraction for Minimizing Scarring

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We developed a bioinspired mechano‐intelligent Janus bandage (MIB) with a hydrophobic flat exterior and a hydrophilic interior featuring gecko‐mimicking wedged microstructures, fabricated via micromolding and anisotropic plasma treatment. The MIB dynamically synchronizes adhesion and contraction, enabling precise force modulation.

Role of the bone morphogenic protein pathway in developmental haemopoiesis and leukaemogenesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Myeloid leukaemias share the common characteristics of being stem cell-derived clonal diseases, characterised by excessive proliferation of one or more myeloid lineage.

Hepatic Deletion of Janus Kinase 2 Counteracts Oxidative Stress in Mice

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2016
Genetic deletion of the tyrosine kinase JAK2 or the downstream transcription factor STAT5 in liver impairs growth hormone (GH) signalling and thereby promotes fatty liver disease.
