JC virus: A brief review

Proportional to the growth rate of its clinical expression, the last decades have seen an increase on JC Virus diagnosis testing, and on therapeutic and symptoms management plans. Whether isolated or associated to retroviral therapy, the relationship of JC Virus to HIV allowed us to delve a little deeper into the knowledge of its behavior.

Decoupling biological signals from unwanted variation in multi‑condition single‑cell RNA sequencing data remains challenging. CAPER disentangles condition‑associated biological effects from sample heterogeneity through matrix factorization, producing interpretable latent factors and a batch‑corrected expression matrix.

Lactate‐Driven Restriction of Mitochondrial Permeability Transition Promotes Resistance to Chemo‐Immunotherapy by Suppressing Tumor PANoptosis

Tumor‐derived lactate establishes a metabolic lock that drives chemo‐immunotherapy resistance by suppressing PANoptosis. Mechanistically, KAT8 lactylates the mitochondrial translocator ANT2, which recruits PGAM5 to dephosphorylate CypD. This cascade restricts mitochondrial permeability transition pore opening, preventing pro‐inflammatory mtDNA leakage.

Targeted decrease of portal hepatic pressure gradient improves ascites control after TIPS
