Protein‐Polymer Dynamic Hydrogels Utilizing Native Ligand Binding for Injectable Therapeutic Delivery and 3D Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Dynamic nanocolloidal hydrogels were synthesized via the co‐assembly of ligand‐modified spheroidal hyperbranched poly(glycerol) (HPG) and soluble albumin nanoparticles (SANs). Co‐assembly occurred through self‐association of the HPG, as well as its interaction with SANs via native ligand binding.

The Role of Viscoelasticity in Heterogeneous Glioblastoma Stem Cell Invasion in Biomimetic 3‐Dimensional Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The role of viscoelasticity in the invasion of heterogeneous glioblastoma stem cells (GSCs) was investigated with GSCs categorized into subgroups based on molecular profile, as Reactive, Invasive, or Constructive using viscoelastic biomimetic hyaluronan‐oxime hydrogels.

Concise Review: Wharton's Jelly: The Rich, but Enigmatic, Source of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells

open access: yesStem Cells Translational Medicine, 2017
The umbilical cord has become an increasingly used source of mesenchymal stromal cells for preclinical and, more recently, clinical studies. Despite the increased activity, several aspects of this cell population have been under‐appreciated.

Hybrid Biofabrication of a Hierarchically Organized Periosteum‐Inspired In Vitro Platform

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A hybrid biofabrication strategy integrates melt electrowriting with extrusion‐based 3D bioprinting to create a hierarchically organized periosteum‐inspired in vitro platform. Spatially defined osteogenic, fibrous, and endothelial cell‐containing compartments support long‐term culture, osteogenic maturation, and CD31+ endothelial cell organization ...
