Flow control of rectangular jet by DBD plasma actuators

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2015
The utility of a dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma actuator as a spread controller for a rectangular jet is investigated. The rectangular nozzle (75×10 mm) is used and actuators are placed on the long sides of the nozzle exit.

Characterization of Defect Distribution in an Additively Manufactured AlSi10Mg as a Function of Processing Parameters and Correlations with Extreme Value Statistics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Multi-parton interactions and rapidity gap survival probability in jet-gap-jet processes

open access: yes, 2017
We discuss an application of dynamical multi-parton interaction model, tuned to measurements of underlying event topology, for a description of destroying rapidity gaps in the jet-gap-jet processes at the LHC.

Experimental Studies of Coaxial Jet Flows

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2007
An experimental study was carried out to investigate the effect of coaxial nozzle operating conditions on near-field jet plume development. The study was conducted in a low speed water tunnel as well as in a high-speed airflow nozzle test facility. Laser

Next-to-Leading Order QCD Corrections to Jet Cross Sections and Jet Rates in Deeply Inelastic Electron Proton Scattering

open access: yes, 1993
Jet cross sections in deeply inelastic scattering in the case of transverse photon exchange for the production of (1+1) and (2+1) jets are calculated in next-to-leading order QCD (here the `+1' stands for the target remnant jet, which is included in the ...

An Experimental Study of Amplitude and Frequency Effects upon a Pulsating Jet

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2009
Pulsating jets are very common and useful in various industrial aspects. However, they have some different basic characteristics from steady jets. In this research, the authors reveal both the frequency and the amplitude effects of pulsations on a jet ...

Gravitomagnetic jets

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2011
We present a family of dynamic rotating cylindrically symmetric Ricci-flat gravitational fields whose geodesic motions have the structure of gravitomagnetic jets. These correspond to helical motions of free test particles up and down parallel to the axis of cylindrical symmetry and are reminiscent of the motion of test charges in a magnetic field.
