ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Optimal Scheduling Using Branch and Bound with SPIN 4.0 [PDF]
The use of model checkers to solve discrete optimisation problems is appealing. A model checker can first be used to verify that the model of the problem is correct.

An effective hybrid algorithm for multi-objective flexible job-shop scheduling problem
Genetic algorithm is one of primary algorithms extensively used to address the multi-objective flexible job-shop scheduling problem. However, genetic algorithm converges at a relatively slow speed.

A Dynamic Adjusted Aggregate Load Method to Support Workload Control Policies
Workload control mechanisms are widely studied in the literature for the control of job-shop systems. The control of these systems involves acceptance, order release and priority dispatching.

To integrate multiple transcriptomics data with severe batch effects for identifying MB subtypes, we developed a novel and accurate computational method named RaMBat, which leveraged subtype‐specific gene expression ranking information instead of absolute gene expression levels to address batch effects of diverse data sources.

Protein O‐glycosylation in the Bacteroidota phylum
Species of the Bacteroidota phylum exhibit a unique O‐glycosylation system. It modifies noncytoplasmic proteins on a specific amino acid motif with a shared glycan core but a species‐specific outer glycan. A locus of multiple glycosyltransferases responsible for the synthesis of the outer glycan has been identified.

Hybrid tabu search for fuzzy job shop [PDF]
International Work-Conference on the Interplay Between Natural and Artificial Computation, IWINAC 2013 (5th. 2013, Mallorca, España)We consider the fuzzy job shop scheduling problem, which is a variant of the well-known job shop problem, with uncertainty
