Outbreak of Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase-producing K pneumoniae: A systematic review.
American Journal of Infection Control, 2016First detected in the United States in 1996, Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase (KPC) has spread internationally among gram-negative bacteria, especially K pneumoniae. These microorganisms can cause serious infections in hospitalized patients, and there are few therapeutic options, culminating in increased mortality. The objective of this study was to

First outbreak of Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase (KPC)-producing K. pneumoniae in Germany
European Journal of Clinical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases, 2010We report the first outbreak of Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase (KPC)-producing K. pneumoniae in Germany. The presence of KPC was confirmed by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The KPC-encoding plasmid was analysed by transconjugation experiments, DNA sequencing, Southern blotting and isoelectric focussing.

Microbial Drug Resistance, 2015
The rate of fluoroquinolone (FQ) resistance among the cephalosporin-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae is considerably high, however, their genetic profiles have not been well investigated. We selected 61 ciprofloxacin-nonsusceptible isolates from 102 K. pneumoniae
