Genetic analysis reveals functions of atypical polyubiquitin chains
Although polyubiquitin chains linked through all lysines of ubiquitin exist, specific functions are well-established only for lysine-48 and lysine-63 linkages in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

Understanding K11‐ polyubiquitin recognition at the 26S Proteasome
Ubiquitination, the covalent attachment of ubiquitin to target proteins, is a reversible post‐translational modification that regulates many important cellular processes. Ubiquitin chains linked at Lys48 (K48) serve as a signal for proteasomal degradation; whereas K63‐linked chains have non‐proteolytic function.

LMO7 Suppresses Tumor‐Associated Macrophage Phagocytosis of Tumor Cells Through Degradation of LRP1
LMO7 in tumor‐associated macrophages suppresses phagocytosis of tumor cells and limits cytotoxic T lymphocytes infiltration, fostering tumor progression. Mechanistically, LMO7 mediates the ubiquitination and degradation of the phagocytic receptor LRP1, impairing its ability to engulf tumor cells and driving macrophages toward an antitumor phenotype ...

Exocellular β-Lactamases of Streptomyces albus G and Strains R39 and K11 [PDF]
The β-lactamases excreted by the highly benzylpenicillin-susceptible Streptomyces strain R39 and the highly benzylpenicillin-resistant Streptomyces albus G were isolated and purified. Neither β-lactamase exhibited dd -carboxypeptidase activity. Both were anionic at

Getting Close: Insight into the Structure and Function of K11/K48-Branched Ubiquitin Chains [PDF]
K11/K48-branched ubiquitin chains are proteasomal priority signals that elicit the rapid elimination of mitotic regulators and aggregation-prone proteins. Indicative of an intriguing signaling mode, Boughton et al. (2019) unravel an interaction between distal subunits of K11/K48-branched ubiquitin trimers that could provide a combined surface for ...
