CCQM-K21 Key Comparison – Determination of pp’-DDT in fish oil

Metrologia, 2003
A key comparison on the determination of (pp'-dichlorodiphenyl) trichloroethane (pp'-DDT) in a fish oil matrix has been successfully completed. Nine NMIs participated in this key comparison and used the technique of isotope dilution gas-chromatography mass spectrometry (ID/GC/MS) for the determinations.

Experimental infection of budgerigars (Melopsittacus undulatus) with a low virulent K21 strain of Toxoplasma gondii

Veterinary Parasitology, 2003
In total 53 budgerigars (Melopsittacus undulatus) were divided into six groups and orally infected with a suspension of oocysts of low virulent Toxoplasma gondii K21 strain in the doses of 10(2), 10(3), 10(4), 10(5) and 10(6), respectively. Blood was collected from the birds prior to the inoculation and then on days 10, 20 and 30 post infection.

Allelopathic effect of the root exudates of K21, a potent allelopathic rice

Weed Biology and Management, 2008
An inhibitory effect of the phenolic compounds released from the roots of K21, a newly bred potent allelopathic rice, was investigated in comparison to its male parent, Kouketsumochi, and its female parent, Dongjinbyeo. The inhibitory rates of the root exudates of K21 and both of its parents, collected at 5 day intervals, on the shoot growth of ...

Anti-herpesviral effects of a novel broad range anti-microbial quaternary ammonium silane, K21

Antiviral Research, 2016
We have created a novel quaternary ammonium silane, K21 through sol-gel chemistry, using an ethoxylated version of an organosilane quaternary ammonium compound and TetraEthyl Ortho Silicate (TEOS) as precursors. Previous studies using the precursor molecule quaternary ammonium compounds (QACs) and a methacryloxy version of K21, primarily designed for ...

Preparation of oligosaccharides by bacteriophage degradation of polysaccharides from Klebsiella serotypes K21 and K32

Carbohydrate Research, 1980
Abstract Depolymerization of bacterial, capsular polysaccharides by phage enzymes is a convenient method of preparing oligosaccharides that correspond to one, or several, repeating unit(s). Thus, the capsular polysaccharide from Klebsiella K21 yields a linear pentasaccharide, and that from Klebsiella K32, a linear tetrasaccharide.

Klebsiella pneumoniae strain K21: evidence for the rapid secretion of an unacylated form of pullulanase

Molecular Microbiology, 1989
Summary Klebsiella pneumoniae strain PAP996 was previously shown to secrete fatty acylated, aggregated (micellar) pullulanase only after the end of exponential growth. Here we show that the closely related strain K21 secretes large amounts of unacylated, non‐aggregated (monomeric) pullulanase during exponential growth.
