Isolation and Structure Determination of Daigremontianin, a Novel Bufadienolide fromKalanchoe daigremontiana

Planta Medica, 1985
Two toxic principles of KALANCHOE DAIGREMONTIANA were isolated and structurally elucidated as bufadienolides with an unusual substitution pattern. Daigremontianin, a novel compound, and bersaldegenin-1,3,5-orthoacetate which was also found in KALANCHOE TUBIFLORA Hamet, show a pronounced sedative, positive inotropic and CNS-activity.

Allelopathic Influence of Kalanchoe daigremontiana on Other Species of Plants

Botanical Gazette, 1975
Inhibition of seed germination and seedling development was observed in root media in which Kalanchoe daigremontiana either had grown or were still growing. Extracts from Kalanchoe shoots were also effective in inducing allelopathic responses. Examples of plants which were affected include Digitaria sanguinales, Panicum miliaceum, Setaria italica ...

Cardiac glycoside-like effects of a bufadienolide extracted from Kalanchoe Daigremontiana

1986
A bufadienolide (compound A2) was isolated from Kalanchoe Daigremontiana Hamet et Perr. by methanol extraction and purification by column chromatography. Its pharmacological effects were investigated.

Gradient in the degree of Crassulacean acid metabolism within leaves of Kalanchoe daigremontiana

Planta, 1987
Leaves of the Crassulacean acid metabolism plant Kalanchoe daigremontiana Hamet et Perr., about 3.3 mm thick, showed higher rates of net CO2 exchange through the lower than through the upper surface during day and night, although the lower surface received only a small fraction of the light which was incident on the upper surface.

ATP-Dependent Uptake of Malate in Vacuoles from CAM Plant, Kalanchoe Daigremontiana

1987
Intracellular translocation of malate during crassulacean acid metabolism (CAM) is a complex phenomenon. The key enzyme phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase catalyzes the synthesis of malate in cytoplasm has been established (Kluge and Tin, 1978). In the dark period the malate synthesized in the cytoplasm is transported into vacuoles and accumulated in its.
