The Oligopeptide Permease Opp Mediates Illicit Transport of the Bacterial P-site Decoding Inhibitor GE81112

open access: yesAntibiotics, 2016
GE81112 is a tetrapeptide antibiotic that binds to the 30S ribosomal subunit and specifically inhibits P-site decoding of the mRNA initiation codon by the fMet-tRNA anticodon. GE81112 displays excellent microbiological activity against some Gram-positive

The binding of kasugamycin to the Escherichia coli ribosomes.

open access: yesThe Journal of Antibiotics, 1975
The binding of kasugamycin to the E. coli ribosomes has been demonstrated by equilibrium dialysis. Kasugamycin binds to the 70S ribosomes in a molar ratio of 1:1. The association constant is approximately 6 X 10(-4) M-1. The antibiotic binds to the 30S subunit as well as to 70S ribosomes, but only slightly to the 50S subunit. The binding of kasugamycin

Effectiveness of TiO2 Nanoparticle Application for Treating Fire Blight in Apples

open access: yesPhytoFrontiers
Fire blight, caused by the bacterium Erwinia amylovora, is a major problem for apple and pear growers. Antibiotics (streptomycin and kasugamycin) are commonly applied during apple blossom in spring to control fire blight.

Evaluation of cold plasma activated water composite reagent on kiwifruit plants with bacterial canker and the external qualities of kiwifruit after spray treatment

open access: yesFuture Foods
This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of cold plasma activated water (PAW) and its complex solution (PKC) in conjunction with kasugamycin copper oxychloride wettable powder (KC) against kiwifruit bacterial canker (KBC) caused by Pseudomonas ...
