First report of the Phe1534Cys kdr mutation in natural populations of Aedes albopictus from Brazil
Knockdown resistance (kdr), caused by alterations in the voltage-gated sodium channel (NaV), is one of the mechanisms responsible for pyrethroid (PY) resistance.

EHD4 and ASAP2 are critical negative regulators of the claudin‐5‐based endothelial barrier
Cell‐surface CLDN‐5 protein levels can be evaluated using a probe that can bind to the extracellular domains of CLDN‐5. A probe derived from Clostridium perfringens enterotoxin allows us to isolate cells with high CLDN‐5 protein levels from a knockout cell library.

Background: Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a major global health problem as it is the leading cause of irreversible loss of central vision in the aging population. Av-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) therapies have been shown to be effective, but they do not respond optimally to all patients. Objective.

First report of the East African kdr mutation in an Anopheles gambiae mosquito in Côte d’Ivoire
Background. The intensive use of insecticides in public health and agriculture has led to the development of insecticide resistances in malaria vectors across sub-Saharan Africa countries in the last two decades.

ABSTRACT Background and Aims Liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs) are crucial nonparenchymal cells involved in liver fibrosis progression. Liver fibrosis develops from various chronic liver diseases, with pathological progression associated with the spleen. However, the precise mechanism by which the spleen influences LSECs during fibrosis is not

Pyrethroid resistance in the major malaria vector Anopheles arabiensis in Nouakchott, Mauritania
Background Mauritania is one of the African countries with ongoing malaria transmission where data on insecticide resistance of local malaria vectors are limited despite an increasing use of long-lasting insecticide-treated nets (LLINs) as the main ...
