Malaria transmission after five years of vector control on Bioko Island, Equatorial Guinea. [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Malaria is endemic with year-round transmission on Bioko Island. The Bioko Island Malaria Control Project (BIMCP) started in 2004 with the aim to reduce malaria transmission and to ultimately eliminate malaria.

DOT1L as a central epigenetic regulator of EndoMT and pulmonary fibrosis. Acting as an early epigenetic switch, it translates TGFβ–SMAD signaling into H3K79me2‐mediated chromatin remodeling, selectively activates fibrosis‐related genes, and primes ECs for rapid mesenchymal transition.

Evidence for at least two independent origins for the 1534C kdr mutation in Aedes aegypti.
Bars show the haplotype frequencies of IIS6 and IIIS6 NaV segments found in five localities that are fixed for 3s6-01 haplotype (A). The IIS6 haplotypes from Clades A or B (see Fig 2) are represented as purple and green lines, respectively. Two different

Status of insecticide susceptibility in Anopheles gambiae s.l. from malaria surveillance sites in The Gambia. [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Vector control is an effective way of reducing malaria transmission. The main vector control methods include the use of insecticide-treated bed nets and indoor residual spraying (IRS).

Abstract INTRODUCTION Cerebrovascular deficits, including cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA), play a key role in Alzheimer's disease (AD) pathogenesis. Here, we characterize the susceptibility of the WSB/EiJ genetic context to human AD‐relevant cerebrovascular phenotypes. METHODS CAA and parenchymal plaque analysis and in vivo neurovascular imaging were

This graphical abstract illustrates the chondroprotective mechanism of exosomes derived from bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) preconditioned with polyphenol‐rich Duhuo Jisheng Decoction (DHJST‐Exos). Enriched with bioactive compounds such as wogonin, quercetin, and kaempferol, DHJST‐Exos effectively ameliorate osteoarthritis (OA ...

RXR Gamma Enables Oligodendrocyte Differentiation by Suppressing Sonic Hedgehog Signaling
Using pharmacogenetic approaches, Baldassarro et al. demonstrate that RXRγ suppresses the SHH signaling pathway in OPCs to ensure their efficient differentiation following T3 stimulation. Accordingly, Rxrg−/− OPCs displayed compromised differentiation which was normalized by the pharmacological inhibition of the hyperactive SHH pathway.
