Performance characteristics of treated kenaf bast fibre reinforced cement composite

Journal of the Indian Academy of Wood Science, 2016
This study investigated the effect of pretreatment on the properties of kenaf fibre cement boards. Homogenous fibre cement boards were made from kenaf bast fibres, cement and water. The fibres were cut into smaller sizes, mixed with cement and water and formed in rectangular moulds. After demoulding, the boards were cured for 28 days.

A green degumming approach for lignocellulosic kenaf bast using ethanolamine deep eutectic solvent

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules
Traditional chemical degumming methods for lignocellulosic bast fibers pose substantial challenges, especially when dealing with kenaf bast, which has a high lignin content. These challenges include severe pollution and low efficiency, etc. Therefore, this study developed a novel, green, and efficient degumming approach for lignocellulosic kenaf bast ...

Electromagnetic Shielding Properties of Iron Oxide Impregnated Kenaf Bast Fiberboard

The electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of kenaf bast fiber based composites with different iron oxide impregnation levels was investigated. The kenaf fibers were retted to remove the lignin and extractives from the pores in fibers, and then magnetized.
