Keratin 19 expression correlates with poor prognosis in breast cancer [PDF]
Breast cancer expression profiling has been used for determining biomarkers. Using gene expression profiles of 2,400 patients we identified keratin 19 (KRT19) as a highly deregulated gene in breast cancer. KRT19 expression is independent of patient race but correlates with disease grade, and ER, PR or HER2 expression.

Morphology, Motility, and Cytoskeletal Architecture of Breast Cancer Cells Depend on Keratin 19 and Substrate [PDF]
Cancer cells gain motility through events that accompany modulation of cell shape and include altered expression of keratins. However, the role of keratins in change of cancer cell architecture is not well understood. Therefore, we ablated the expression

Keratin 19 is a potential diagnostic and prognostic biomarker in pancreatic adenocarcinoma
This study aimed to evaluate Keratin 19 (KRT19) as a potential prognostic biomarker for the diagnosis and prognosis of pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PAAD). Using data from The Cancer Genome Atlas and the Gene Expression Omnibus, we analyzed KRT19 expression

Background Keratins (Ks) represent tissue-specific proteins. K18 is produced in hepatocytes while K19, the most widely used ductular reaction (DR) marker, is found in cholangiocytes and hepatic progenitor cells.

Influences of Desmin and Keratin 19 on Passive Biomechanical Properties of Mouse Skeletal Muscle [PDF]
In skeletal muscle fibers, forces must be transmitted between the plasma membrane and the intracellular contractile lattice, and within this lattice between adjacent myofibrils. Based on their prevalence, biomechanical properties and localization, desmin

Keratin 19 protein expression is an independent predictor of survival in human hepatocellular carcinoma [PDF]
We aimed to assess the clinicopathological relevance and prognostic significance of expression of the hepatic progenitor cell markers keratin 19 (K19), epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM) and CD117 (c-KIT) in a White series of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).We evaluated the immunohistochemical expression of K19, EpCAM and CD117 in 89 surgical ...

Mammalian SIRT2 inhibits keratin 19 expression and is a tumor suppressor in skin [PDF]
SIRT2 is a member of the mammalian sirtuin family (SIRT1‐7). As compared with other sirtuins, SIRT2 is found primarily in the cytoplasm. It regulates multiple physiological processes.

Keratin (K) 19-positive hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is well known to have a higher malignant potential than K19-negative HCC: However, the molecular mechanisms involved in K19-mediated progression of HCC remain unclear. We attempted to clarify whether
