Universal Dynamics of Kerr-Frequency Comb Formation in Microresonators [PDF]

open access: yesConference on Lasers and Electro-Optics 2012, 2012
Optical frequency combs allow for precise measurement of optical frequencies and are used in a growing number of applications beyond spectroscopy and optical frequency metrology. A class of compact microresonator based frequency comb generators has emerged recently based on (hyper)-parametric frequency conversion, mediated by the Kerr-non-linearity, of

Dress for success: climate pressures predict fur insulation and body size in natural and reintroduced populations of a threatened marsupial

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Phenotypic variation in functional traits underpins responses to environmental gradients, influencing thermoregulation, energy balance, and long‐term persistence under climate extremes. Climate change is altering these gradients globally, yet in species that have already disappeared from much of their range, adaptive phenotypes may have also been lost,

Identifying and Mapping Industrial Districts Through a Spatially Constrained Cluster‐Wise Regression Approach

open access: yesJournal of Regional Science, Volume 65, Issue 2, Page 403-428, March 2025.
ABSTRACT The aim of this article is to exploit an innovative spatial econometric approach to map and study the evolving patterns of industrial districts (IDs). The procedure can be classified as a k‐means cluster‐wise regression procedure and is designed to detect homogeneous areas of subcontracting activity.

Direct generation of optical frequency combs in χ(2) nonlinear cavities

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2016
Quadratic nonlinear processes are currently exploited for frequency comb transfer and extension from the visible and near infrared regions to other spectral ranges where direct comb generation cannot be accomplished.

Exceptional Light Propagation via Generalized Bulk‐Edge Correspondence

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 13, 13 July 2026.
We show that unlike in electronic systems, localized edge states in topological photonics are governed not only by nontrivial bulk topology, but also by polarization‐dependent light‐line confinement conditions inherent to Maxwell's equations. This fundamentally generalized bulk‐edge correspondence unlocks new regimes of tunable near‐cutoff localization

Self-Referenced, Chipscale Kerr Frequency Comb without External Broadening [PDF]

open access: yes
A Kerr frequency comb generated in an integrated silicon nitride microresonator is self-referenced using the 2f-3f approach. With an intrinsic bandwidth of two-thirds of an octave no additional, external broadening of the spectrum is required ...

Deterministic generation of single soliton Kerr frequency comb in microresonators by a single shot pulsed trigger [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Kerr soliton frequency comb generation in monolithic microresonators recently attracted great interests as it enables chip-scale few-cycle pulse generation at microwave rates with smooth octave-spanning spectra for self-referencing.

Study of Free‐Space Optical Quantum Network: Review and Prospectives

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 36, 29 June 2026.
Free from the constraints of fiber connections, free‐space quantum network enables longer and more flexible quantum network connections. This review summarizes and comparatively analyzes free‐space quantum network experiments based on ground stations, satellites, and mobile platforms.
