Proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 in kidney disease

open access: yesNephrology Dialysis Transplantation, 2019
Abstract Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is associated with a substantially increased risk for the development of atherosclerotic cardiovascular (CV) disease. Accordingly, CV mortality is increased even in the earliest stages of CKD. In the general population and in CKD patients, high plasma levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol ...

Reinforcing Calcium Overload via Inflammation‐Mediated Targeting to Amplify Pyroptosis and Antitumor Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A neutrophil‐membrane‐camouflaged nanoplatform (RC@NMVs) exploits tumor inflammation to target and accumulate in tumors. Intracellular Ca2+ overload is triggered via lysosomal CaP dissolution and Ru red‐mediated Ca2+ channel blockade, synergistically inducing gasdermin‐mediated pyroptosis.

SINVAD: Search-based Image Space Navigation for DNN Image Classifier Test Input Generation

open access: yes, 2020
The testing of Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) has become increasingly important as DNNs are widely adopted by safety critical systems. While many test adequacy criteria have been suggested, automated test input generation for many types of DNNs remains a ...

Oxidative Fast Pyrolysis Enabling Autothermal Production of Porous Functionalized Biochar and Anhydrosugar/Phenol‐Rich Bio‐Oil From Biomass

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Oxidative fast pyrolysis of biomass enables autothermal production of value‐added products. ABSTRACT Oxidative fast pyrolysis can potentially overcome the heat‐supply bottleneck of conventional fast pyrolysis by enabling autothermal operation while also tailoring product quality through controlled oxygen addition.

Machine learning‐based prediction of elevated N terminal pro brain natriuretic peptide among US general population

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 859-868, April 2025.
Abstract Aims Natriuretic peptide‐based pre‐heart failure screening has been proposed in recent guidelines. However, an effective strategy to identify screening targets from the general population, more than half of which are at risk for heart failure or pre‐heart failure, has not been well established.

Pricing Models for a Two-Period Manufacturing and Remanufacturing Process Under Carbon Cap and Trade Mechanism

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
Under carbon cap and trade mechanism, collecting ratio and carbon cap seriously affect the decision of a manufacturer in a closed-loop supply chain. This paper constructs pricing models for manufacturing and remanufacturing products in the presence of ...

PCSK9 deficiency unmasks a sex- and tissue-specific subcellular distribution of the LDL and VLDL receptors in mice[S]

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2015
Proprotein convertase subtilisin kexin type 9 (PCSK9), the last member of the family of Proprotein Convertases related to Subtilisin and Kexin, regulates LDL-cholesterol by promoting the endosomal/lysosomal degradation of the LDL receptor (LDLR). Herein,
