Biodiversity can influence forest productivity, but this does not necessarily translate into higher provision of wood‐based Nature's contributions to people (NCP), as only a subset of the wood produced is used for each NCP. Biodiversity–NCP relationships therefore require further assessment.

Porous Organic Polymers: From Molecular Design to Scalable Technologies
This review introduces porous organic polymers (POPs) for a wide range of applications, including energy storage, gas adsorption, catalysts, adsorbents, biomedical applications, sensors, and other exciting fields, and critically analyzes the synthesis and modification, and how structural topology influences the composites' architecture of POPs, along ...

OPTIMIZING AIRFLOW REVERSALS FOR KILN DRYING OF SOFTWOOD TIMBER BY APPLYING MATHEMATICAL MODELS
After experimental validation of a kiln-wide drying model, a single board drying model and a stress model for kiln drying of softwood timber, these models are integrated and used to investigate benefits of airflow reversals in smoothing moisture content ...

Barriers to Steel Decarbonization
Main identified barriers to steel decarbonization Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions are a leading contributor to global climate change, necessitating urgent mitigation strategies. While various metrics—such as total national emissions, per‐capita output, and historical contributions—define responsibility, determining accountability remains complex ...

Males are worse mothers: Comparing care patterns in a facultatively caring beetle
Why should biparental care exist if offspring fare just as well when only one parent is present? In the facultatively dependent burying beetle, Nicrophorus vespilloides, manipulating environmental quality reveals that biparental care benefits offspring in form of lower personal immune requirement and parents in term of weight gain.

Between the Indian Ocean and the Gulf: Ceramics From Ḥattā Oasis in the Emirate of Dubai
ABSTRACT This study presents the ceramic finds from archaeological investigations conducted in 2024 at two settlements: ‘Islamic Village' and Suhaila 2, one of a number of mountain villages of the Late Islamic period within the Ḥattā Oasis: a high‐altitude exclave in the Emirate of Dubai. The sites are located on the northeastern slopes of Jabal Qallāt
