Proposition of a New Translation Rule in Kinematic Hardening
The translation rule in the so-called kinematic hardening model with respect to elasto-plastic constitutive relations of metal is investigated. The representative translation rules of Prager's and Ziegler's type and of the stress increment type and of the stress increment type which was proposed by the author in the past are pointed out to have some ...

Topological Point Defects in SmC* Liquid Crystals Under Mechanical Disturbance
Tangetial air jet shear inducess island formation and nucleates topological point defects in uniform SmC films. Island bounded by edge dislocation loops shrink and transform into isolated point defects under continued shear. Mechanical perturbatio provides a controllable route for defect engineering in smectric liquid crystal thin films.

Anti‐Slip Material‐Based Strategies and Approaches
This review highlights the principle mechanisms of slipping at the microscale, linking contact mechanics with a friction behavior model for surface interfaces. Main strategies to develop anti‐slip properties to the surfaces are discussed alongside standardized testing approaches.

A finite strain thermo-mechanically coupled material model for semi-crystalline polymers [PDF]
In this work, a thermo-mechanically coupled constitutive model for semicrystalline polymers is derived in a thermodynamically consistent manner. In general, the macroscopic material behaviour of this class of materials is dictated by the underlying ...

Anisotropic yield functions in a co-rotating reference frame [PDF]
In metal forming simulations large deformations are often treated based on objective formulations. Large rotations are accounted for by rotating the stress tensor or approximating the rotation by some integration rule for the rate of rotation.

Bayesian parameter identification in plasticity [PDF]
To evaluate the cyclic behaviour under different loading conditions using the kinematic and isotropic hardening theory of steel a Chaboche visco-plastic material model is employed.
