Study on the Kinematic Performances and Optimization for Three Types of Parallel Manipulators

open access: yesMachines, 2016
The modelling, optimization issues and stiffness for several types of three degrees-of-freedom parallel robotic manipulators, i.e., 3-DOF pure translational, 3-DOF pure rotational and 3-DOF mixed motion types, are studied in this paper. First of all, the

Geometries for Possible Kinematics

open access: yes, 2010
The algebras for all possible Lorentzian and Euclidean kinematics with $\frak{so}(3)$ isotropy except static ones are re-classified. The geometries for algebras are presented by contraction approach.

Lightweight and High‐Performance Ankle Braces Enabled by 3D Printed Metamaterial Liquid Crystal Polymer

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A flexible, lightweight ankle brace made from 3D‐printed liquid crystal polymer metamaterials offers targeted support without restricting movement. Programmable stiffness provides protection during risky motions. Biomechanical tests suggest performance comparable to commercial braces with reduced bulk, highlighting potential for broader orthotic ...

Kinematics Analysis of Working Devices of Wheel Loader based on Homogeneous Coordinate Transformation

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2015
The kinematics equation of working devices is established by using the homogeneous coordinate transformation, and this is a new way for studying kinematics and dynamics of the working device of loader.Firstly, the kinematics equation of working devices is ...

Co-coding of head and whisker movements by both VPM and POm thalamic neurons

open access: yesNature Communications
Rodents continuously move their heads and whiskers in a coordinated manner while perceiving objects through whisker-touch. Studies in head-fixed rodents showed that the ventroposterior medial (VPM) and posterior medial (POm) thalamic nuclei code for ...

Analyzing the Use of Accelerometers as a Method of Early Diagnosis of Alterations in Balance in Elderly People: A Systematic Review

open access: yesSensors, 2019
Alterations of balance are a growing public health problem as they affect one in three adults over the age of 65, and one in two over the age of 80. Identifying the factors that affect postural stability is essential in designing specific interventions ...

Extreme Terahertz Nonlinearity of AlGaN/GaN‐Based Grating‐Gate Plasmonic Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Plasmonic crystals based on grating‐gated 2D electron gas in AlGaN/GaN heterostructures provide a platform for strong light‐matter interaction. Pump‐probe experiments revealed strong terahertz nonlinearity leading to 45% increase in transmission at a fluence below 350 nJ cm−2.
