New measurements on isobaric fission product yields and mean kinetic energy for 241Pu thermal neutron-induced fission

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
Nuclear fission yields data measurements for thermal neutron induced fission of 241Pu have been carried out at the Institut Laue Langevin (ILL) in Grenoble, using the Lohengrin mass spectrometer. Mass, isotopic and isomeric yields have been extracted for

Multi-scale analysis of compressible fluctuations in the solar wind [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2018
Compressible plasma turbulence is investigated in the fast solar wind at proton kinetic scales by the combined use of electron density and magnetic field measurements. Both the scale-dependent cross-correlation (CC) and the reduced magnetic helicity (

Experimental Investigation of the Adsorption and Desorption Kinetics on an Open-Structured Asymmetric Plate Heat Exchanger; Matching Between Small-Scale and Full-Scale Results

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2022
This paper introduces the results of an experimental study on the adsorption and desorption kinetics of a commercially available, open-structured asymmetric plate heat exchanger adapted to act as an adsorber/desorber for the application in adsorption ...

Continuum modelling of granular particle flow with inelastic inter-particle collisions

open access: yes, 2003
The kinetic theory of granular flow is a successful model for gas-solid flows. However, inelastic collisions between particles, among other mechanisms, cause agglomeration of particles, which may be the reason why undue sensitivity of the model to any ...

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Kinetic Measurements of Cl Atom Reactions with C5–C8 Unsaturated Alcohols

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2020
The reactions of five structurally similar unsaturated alcohols, i.e., (Z)-2-penten-1-ol, (E)-2-hexen-1-ol, (E)-3-hexen-1-ol, (Z)-3-hexen-1-ol, and 1-octen-3-ol, with Cl atoms in the gas phase, were investigated at 296 ± 2 K and 1 atm by the ...

Measurement of Cell Kinetic Parameters in Meningiomas

open access: yesNeurologia medico-chirurgica, 1997
Cell kinetic parameters were measured in four cases of meningioma showing regrowth. The cell cycle time (Tc) and tumor doubling time (Td) were established by histological evaluation of the biopsy specimens and calculation of the growth curve based on computed tomography (CT)/magnetic resonance (MR) images.

EI of the Phosphotransferase System of Escherichia coli: Mathematical Modeling Approach to Analysis of Its Kinetic Properties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The mathematical model of the operation of the first enzyme of theEscherichia coliphosphotransferase system, EI, is proposed. Parameters of the kinetic model describing the operation of EI under different conditions are identified on the basis of a large

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...
