Extracting Morphological and Sub-Resolution Features from Optical Coherence Tomography Images, a Review with Applications in Cancer Diagnosis

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
Before they become invasive, early cancer cells exhibit specific and characteristic changes that are routinely used by a histopathologist for diagnosis. Currently, these early abnormalities are only detectable ex vivo by histopathology or, non-invasively

Dynamic Equivalent Model of Two‐Staged Distributed Photovoltaic Cluster Based on Multiple Clustering Algorithms

open access: yesIET Circuits, Devices &Systems, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Aiming at the modeling problem of bipolar distributed photovoltaic (DPV) cluster, this paper proposes a clustering equivalent modeling method based on clustering algorithm. First, by analyzing the detailed model of bipolar DPV, it is found that the indexes that can reflect its steady‐state and dynamic characteristics mainly include energy storage ...

Phase transitions in KIO3 [PDF]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section A Foundations of Crystallography, 2012
The high-pressure behavior of KIO(3) was studied up to 30 GPa using single crystal and powder x-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, second harmonic generation (SHG) experiments and density functional theory (DFT)-based calculations. Triclinic KIO(3) shows two pressure-induced structural phase transitions at 7 GPa and at 14 GPa.

Study of Iodine Content in Commercial Salt of Nepal: Examining Compliance With Regulation, Associated Hazards, and Health Effects

open access: yesInternational Journal of Food Science, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Iodine is a vital micronutrient necessary for thyroid hormone synthesis, growth, and neurodevelopment. Universal salt iodization was implemented globally, including in Nepal, to address the burden of iodine deficiency diseases. Despite the success, iodine loss from iodized salt due to temperature and storage practices remains an issue.

Two Polymorphs of the Magnetic Catena‐Orthoperiodato‐Cuprate(II) K3[CuIO6]·4H2O from Ultra‐Alkaline Media

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, Volume 651, Issue 16, November 14, 2025.
The ultra‐alkaline condition of a hydroflux facilitate the synthesis of a new periodato cuprate(II). Fully deprotonated orthoperiodate octahedra are connected into chains by copper(II) cations. The two modifications differ in the constitution of these chains, which influences the magnetism of the compounds.

Renewal equations for mosquito‐borne diseases

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 11, Page 2653-2666, November 2025.
Abstract During infectious disease outbreaks, estimates of time‐varying pathogen transmissibility, such as the instantaneous reproduction number Rt or epidemic growth rate rt, are used to inform decision‐making by public health authorities. For directly transmitted infectious diseases, the renewal equation framework is a widely used method for ...
