The pistil as a traffic light: Yellow‐to‐red color change likely influences pollinator visitation patterns in Saxifraga fortunei (Saxifragaceae)

Flowers can communicate reproductive status to pollinators through visual cues. In Saxifraga fortunei, pistils often changed from yellow to red after pollination, and hoverflies and honeybees preferentially visited flowers with yellow pistils. Induction of IL‐9‐producing CD8+ T cells by ascochlorin derivatives

A newly synthesised ascochlorin derivative, N184, induces small amounts of IL‐9‐producing CD8+ T cells. N184 improved the survival of CD8+ T cells and enhanced their antitumour activity, partially in an IL‐9‐dependent manner. The antitumour effect was completely dependent on IFNγ secretion rather than the cytotoxic activity of CD8+ T cells.
