Regenerative medicine may offer strategies to alleviate the debilitating symptoms of osteoarthritis and delay the time to joint replacement. In a study now published in Science Translational Medicine, Acevedo Rua and colleagues provide evidence of the therapeutic potential of autologous nasal chondrocyte-derived cartilage grafts in repairing arthritis ...

Standardising the clinical assessment of coronal knee laxity
Clinical laxity tests are used for assessing knee ligament injuries and for soft tissue balancing in total knee arthroplasty. This study reports the development and validation of a quantitative technique of assessing collateral knee laxity through ...

Wilbrand and Saenger(1) studied optic chiasms after unilateral enucleation, noting inferonasal crossing fibers curved anteriorly into the contralateral optic nerve (Wilbrand knee; figure, A). This explains contralateral superotemporal visual field defects (junctional scotomas) with optic nerve lesions at the chiasmal junction.

Total knee arthroplasty in valgus knee
Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) in valgus knee has the reputation of being more difficult than in well aligned or varus knee, and there is no management consensus. Results on a continuous series of 100 TKAs on valgus knee were compared to the literature data, to define surgical strategy adapted to the various types of valgus knee.

Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy due to Biallelic Pathogenic Variants in PIGM
ABSTRACT Objective PIGM encodes a critical enzyme in the glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)‐anchor biosynthesis pathway. While promoter‐region mutations in PIGM have been associated with a relatively mild phenotype characterized by portal vein thrombosis and absence seizures, recent evidence suggests that coding‐region mutations result in a more severe

Early Clinical, Imaging, and Pathological Characteristics of SRPK3/TTN‐Digenic Myopathy
ABSTRACT Objective SRPK3/TTN‐digenic myopathy was recently established as a skeletal muscle myopathy caused by digenic inheritance. This study characterizes the early clinical presentation of SRPK3/TTN‐digenic myopathy in one previously reported and seven newly identified pediatric patients.
