Suppressor of cytokine signaling 3 (SOCS3) is a feedback inhibitor of interleukin (IL)-6 signaling in macrophages. In the absence of this molecule, macrophages become extremely prone to an IL-6-dependent expression of arginase-1 (Arg1) and nitric oxide ...

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Histological analysis of control and knockout mice.
(A) Sagittal section of E14.5 embryos (20X magnification). The gross morphological structures of brain, lung, liver, kidney, intestines, and other organs appeared similar between −−/gg knockout animals and littermate matched ++/+g controls (n of 4 for ...

Effect of IAA on in vitro growth and colonization of Nostoc on plant roots
Nostoc is widely known for its ability to fix atmospheric nitrogen, and undergoes symbiotic references with plants from wide taxonomic groups. Several strains of Nostoc produce phytohormones and promote growth of its partners. Nostoc OS-1 was selected for

Conserved binding mode but diverse interfaces of MreC‐PBP2 interactions
The crystal structure of abMreC reveals a conserved two β‐barrel architecture and provides structural insights into its role within the bacterial elongasome. The abMreC–abPBP2 complex model identifies the molecular basis of MreC‐mediated PBP2 recognition, contributing to the regulation of peptidoglycan synthesis.

Interactions associated with genes identified in MyD88-knockout and TRIF-knockout response.
Genes predicted to be part of the optimal sub-network in either the MyD88-knockout or the TRIF-knockout samples. A. Sub-network associated with Git1 which has the highest flow in the MyD88-knockout sample. B.Cry1, a component of the circadian complex and

Microbiome‐blood–brain barrier interactions in aging — mechanisms and therapeutic potential
Aging reshapes the gut microbiome (↓SCFA‐producing commensals; ↑pro‐inflammatory outputs), shifting circulating metabolites (↓SCFAs; ↑LPS, ↑TMAO, ↑PAA) that act at the BBB to increase nonspecific transcytosis, alter transport, and promote astrocyte reactivity, heightening brain vulnerability.

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.
