Data-Driven Control of Soft Robots Using Koopman Operator Theory
IEEE Transactions on Robotics, 2021Controlling soft robots with precision is a challenge due to the difficulty of constructing models that are amenable to model-based control design techniques. Koopman operator theory offers a way to construct explicit dynamical models of soft robots and to control them using established model-based control methods.

Recent contributions have extended the applicability of Koopman operator theory from dynamical systems to control. Stability theory got reformulated in terms of spectral properties of the Koopman operator [1], providing a nice link between the way we treat linear systems and nonlinear systems and opening the door for the use of classical linear e.g ...

Introduction to the Koopman Operator in Dynamical Systems and Control Theory
This introductory chapter provides an overview of the Koopman operator framework. We present basic notions and definitions, including those related to the spectral properties of the operator. We also review numerical methods that are used to represent the operator on a finite-dimensional basis and to compute its spectral properties from data (DMD ...

Dual systems identification methods based on Koopman operator theory
We report our recent developments on Koopman operator lifting techniques for system identification and parameter estimation. We present two methods, which are based on the key idea of identifying the Koopman operator in a lifted space of observables, but rely on two different finite-dimensional approximations of the Koopman operator.

This paper presents an approach to Model Predictive Control (MPC) for nonlinear systems by combining Koopman operator theory with autoencoder networks enhanced by temporal layers for time-delay embedding. Traditional Koopman-based methods miss temporal dependencies, so we incorporate Temporal Convolutional Networks (TCN), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM),
