Stable flies preferentially oviposit on sites offering conspecific eggs with egg‐derived airborne semiochemicals. Egg‐borne bacterial symbionts, and Serratia marcescens in particular, produce odorants which attract gravid female flies and elicit oviposition.

Evaluation of apricot (Prunus armeniaca L.) wood on pulp and paper production
In this study, pulp and paper production conditions from apricot (Prunus armeniaca L.) wood were investigated. 10 cooking experiments were performed in order to determine optimum pulping condition.

Long‐run confidence: Estimating uncertainty when using long‐run multipliers
Abstract Researchers are often interested in the long‐run relationship (LRR) between variables where the dependent variable has dynamic properties. Though determining the long‐run multiplier (LRM) for an independent variable is straightforward, correctly estimating the significance of the LRM is often difficult, especially when time series are short ...

On the Interrelation Between Kraft Cooking Conditions and Pulp Composition [PDF]
In the early 1990’s, a lot of work was focused on extending the kraft cook to a low lignin content (low kappa number). The driving force was the need to further reduce the environmental impact of the bleaching, as less delignification work would be ...

Investigation lignin dissolution at pulping process of wheat straw [PDF]
The lignin dissolution in Kraft pulping for wheat straw was studied. Kraft pulping was carried out under the conditions: chemical charge of 18% (as NaOH, based on o.d. bagasse), sulfidity of 25% and liquor to wheat straw ratio of 10:1.

Adaptability in Innovation Management: A Meta‐Analysis
ABSTRACT Academic Summary As firms navigate dynamic technological, market, and institutional environments, adaptability—and related notions such as flexibility and agility—have become central to innovation management. Yet, the literature is conceptually fragmented: multiple labels are applied with overlapping but inconsistent content, and few studies ...

Abstract Hunter‐gatherers faced the survival threat of confusing edible mushrooms with their poisonous twins, imposing selection pressure on those who failed to detect subtle visual differences. Grounded in the ancestral priorities framework, which posits that the human mind is adapted to handle prehistoric challenges, we investigated whether humans ...

The limits of delignification in kraft cooking [Elektronisk resurs] [PDF]
The perspective of the article is to explore kraft cooking at the limits of delignification, i.e. what degree of delignification is needed to obtain fibre liberation and what is the maximum degree of delignification possible in the kraft pulping stage ...

Effect of cooking and bleaching on the structure of xylan in conventional pine kraft pulp [PDF]
Pine chips were cooked with a conventional kraft process, and the structure of the surface xylan as a function of the cooking time was analyzed by enzymatic peeling and 1HNMR spectroscopy. A brownstock pulp with kappa no.

Many studies have shown that the yield of kraft pulping can be improved by xylan reabsorption to the pulp during the cooking, and kraft black liquor contains significant fraction of xylan from wood, an important source of these macromolecules.
