Accessibility is prioritized for daily uses such as fuelwood, while functional traits are valued for longer‐term uses. Differences between men and women reflect traditional gender roles.

Vanillyl monosulphide was decomposed with alkali at 130°. Vanillin, vanillyl alcohol and the secondary products from vanillyl alcohol were identified.
