Some factors affecting the brightness and TCF-bleachability of kraft pulp [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
By varying the cooking conditions, several series of kraft pulps having different brightness levels, i.e. different light absorption coefficients (k), were prepared.

Chemistry of Kraft Pulping and Pulp Bleaching

open access: yesJAPAN TAPPI JOURNAL, 2000
Chemistry of kraft pulp production was summarized from considering recent environmental plans. Levels of dioxins and chloroform emission in regulations were shown first, and then chemical feature of lignin, reactions of lignin and carbohydrates during kraft pulping, structure of residual lignin in pulp, reactions of chlorine and chlorinated chemicals ...

A Mechanistic Study of Bio‐Based Nanotemplated Carbon Nanofibers Derived From Water Processable Lignin Blends for Sustainable Energy Storage Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
As‐spun carbon materials produced from Lignosulfonate, gelatin, and alginate, selected for water solubility, and ability to produce templated sustainable carbon nanostructures. Gelatin and alginate are sacrificial during thermal processing, allowing the production of engineered high surface area nanostructures, which are further characterized for ...

Dual‐Functional Sulfonated Nanocellulose for Proton Exchange Membranes With High Proton Conductivity at Low Humidity

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A scalable dual‐functional strategy yields simultaneously sulfonated and nanosized cellulose for proton exchange membranes with continuous hydrogen‐bond networks. These sustainable membranes exhibit low‐humidity proton conductivity twofold higher than Nafion 212, providing a robust solution for next‐generation fuel cells.

Influence of kraft pulp production conditions on kraft pulp fiber curl [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002

Assessment of Q(OP)D(PO) bleachability of softwood kraft pulp [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Bleachability is evaluated as how easily a pulp sample is bleached and it depends on the structure of residual lignin and carbohydrates. Also, the bleachability varies depending on the bleaching sequence.
