Loss of the Krüppel-like factor 4 tumor suppressor is associated with epithelial-mesenchymal transition in colorectal cancer. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Cancer Metastasis Treat, 2019
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third leading cancer-related cause of death due to its propensity to metastasize. Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a multistep process important for invasion and metastasis of CRC.

SETD5 regulates the OGT-catalyzed O-GlcNAcylation of RNA polymerase II, which is involved in the stemness of colorectal cancer cells

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
The dosage-dependent recruitment of RNA polymerase II (Pol II) at the promoters of genes related to neurodevelopment and stem cell maintenance is required for transcription by the fine-tuned expression of SET-domain-containing protein 5 (SETD5). Pol II O-

MiR‐1 Is Regulated by Hydrogen Peroxide via MAPK and Limits Cell Migration and Invasion

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT MicroRNA‐1 (miR‐1) is a conserved microRNA that is highly expressed in skeletal and cardiac muscle tissues. Moreover, miR‐1 regulates genes and has critical roles in cell migration and invasion. Downregulation of miR‐1 has been found in many pathologies of numerous organs, including the lungs.

Efficient Identification of Butterfly Sparse Matrix Factorizations [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Mathematics of Data Science, Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, In press, 2021
Fast transforms correspond to factorizations of the form $\mathbf{Z} = \mathbf{X}^{(1)} \ldots \mathbf{X}^{(J)}$, where each factor $ \mathbf{X}^{(\ell)}$ is sparse and possibly structured. This paper investigates essential uniqueness of such factorizations, i.e., uniqueness up to unavoidable scaling ambiguities.

Single‐cell spatial transcriptomic sequencing and machine learning models uncover molecular mechanisms and diagnostic biomarkers of Peyronie's disease formation in rats

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Peyronie's disease (PD) is a common male reproductive system disorder. The exact etiology of PD remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate molecular and cellular changes in PD using single‐cell spatial transcriptomics. Abstract Peyronie's disease (PD), commonly known as penile induration, is a prevalent male reproductive system disorder with ...

MiR-135b-5p promotes viability, proliferation, migration and invasion of gastric cancer cells by targeting Krüppel-like factor 4 (KLF4)

open access: yesArchives of medical science : AMS, 2019
Introduction The expression of MiR-135b-5p was up-regulated while Krüppel-like factor 4 (KLF4) expression was extremely low in human gastric carcinoma (GC) tissues.

Unique prime factorization for infinite tensor product factors [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
In this article, we investigate a unique prime factorization property for infinite tensor product factors. We provide several examples of type II and III factors which satisfy this property, including all free product factors with diffuse free product components.

Different parts of the mussel Gigantidas haimaensis holobiont responded differently to deep‐sea sampling stress

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
Symbiotic gill and nonsymbiotic mantle of mussel Gigantidas haimaensis responded differently to deep‐sea sampling stress caused by acute environmental changes. Sharply increased transcription factors potentially play key roles in initiating the response of sampled deep‐sea macrobenthos to the sampling stress.

miR-7-5p regulates the proliferation and migration of colorectal cancer cells by negatively regulating the expression of Krüppel-like factor 4

open access: yesOncology Letters, 2019
Previous studies have demonstrated that microRNA-7-5p (miR-7-5p) functions as a tumor suppressor in certain types of human cancer. However, the role of miR-7-5p in colorectal cancer (CRC) remains to be investigated.

Kruppel-like Factor 4 Abrogates Myocardin-induced Activation of Smooth Muscle Gene Expression [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2005
Platelet-derived growth factor BB (PDGF-BB) has been shown to be an extremely potent negative regulator of smooth muscle cell (SMC) differentiation. Moreover, previous studies have demonstrated that the Kruppel-like transcription factor (KLF) 4 potently represses the expression of multiple SMC genes.
