Cloning, Expression, and Characterization of Bacterial l-Arabinose 1-Dehydrogenase Involved in an Alternative Pathway of l-Arabinose Metabolism [PDF]
Azospirillum brasiliense converts L-arabinose to alpha-ketoglutarate via five hypothetical enzymatic steps. We purified and characterized L-arabinose 1-dehydrogenase (EC 1.1.1.46), catalyzing the conversion of L-arabinose to L-arabino-gamma-lactone as an enzyme responsible for the first step of this alternative pathway of L-arabinose metabolism.

ABSTRACT Yeast sugar transporters have highly evolved for preferential glucose transport, a significant roadblock for utilizing non‐glucose sugars in renewable feedstocks such as lignocellulosic biomass. To enable simultaneous transport of multiple sugars, native hexose transporters were replaced by SWEET7p from Arabidopsis thaliana in engineered ...

PREFERENTIAL SOLVATION OF L-ARABINOSE AND DL-MALIC ACID IN ETHANOL + WATER MIXTURES
By using the inverse Kirkwood-Buff integrals (IKBI) method, the differences between the local, around the solute and the bulk mole fractions of both solvents in saturated solutions of L-arabinose (compound 3) and DL-malic acid (compound 3) in ethanol ...

Sustainable hydrogen production can be obtained from hydogen‐rich biomass‐derived organic molecules through Acceptorless Dehydrogenation (AD) reactions. Glycerol and sugars are available in large quantities from industry and can be successfully used as substrates in AD protocols, in the presence of tailored, selective, easily tunable and thermally ...
