Background Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients are at high risk of developing cardiovascular disease (CVD). In RA, chronic inflammation may lead to endothelial dysfunction, an early indicator of CVD, owing to diminished nitric oxide (NO) production ...

Some feeds that are used as protein sources, such as fish meal and soybean meal, have a relatively high cost. Therefore, synthetic amino acids, such as arginine and lysine, can be used as alternative protein sources.

Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

The importance of nitric oxide availability in myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury : regulatory roles of arginase, L-arginine and tetrahydrobiopterin [PDF]
Background. Maintenance of nitric oxide (NO) availability is crucial for cardiovascular homeostasis and protection against myocardial ischemia-reperfusion (IR) injury.

Homologous expression and purification of human HAX‐1 for structural studies
This research protocol provides detailed instructions for cloning, expressing, and purifying large quantities of the intrinsically disordered human HAX‐1 protein, N‐terminally fused to a cleavable superfolder GFP, from mammalian cells. HAX‐1 is predicted to undergo posttranslational modifications and to interact with membranes, various cellular ...

BackgroundDecreased nitric oxide (NO) and hypoargininemia are associated with severe falciparum malaria and may contribute to severe disease. Intravenous L-arginine increases endothelial NO in moderately-severe malaria (MSM) without adverse effects.

Analysis of Treacher Collins syndrome 4‐associated mutations in Schizosaccharomyces pombe
Fission yeast models carrying Treacher Collins syndrome type 4‐associated mutations reveal that impaired processivity of RNA polymerase I leads to defective rRNA transcription. This study highlights the essential role of a conserved arginine residue in Pol I elongation and provides mechanistic insight into the pathogenesis of ribosomopathies.

Pathogenic Neurofibromatosis type 1 gene variants in tumors of non‐NF1 patients and role of R1276
Somatic variants of the neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) gene occur across neoplasms without clinical manifestation of the disease NF1. We identified emerging somatic pathogenic NF1 variants and hotspots, for example, at the arginine finger 1276. Those missense variants provide fundamental information about neurofibromin's role in cancer.

Developmental changes in the L-arginine/nitric oxide pathway from infancy to adulthood: plasma asymmetric dimethylarginine levels decrease with age [PDF]
Background: The L-arginine/nitric oxide (NO) pathway has multiple physiological functions including vasodilation, inhibition of platelet aggregation and neurotransmission.
