A cyclic derivative of l-citrulline
Biochemical Medicine, 1978Abstract l -Citrulline is converted in vitro by l -amino acid oxidase to the analogous α-ketoacid. Mass-spectrometer analysis revealed that the compound exists in a cyclic form with a molecular weight of 156. The proposed name of the previously undescribed cyclic derivative of citrulline is 4, 5-dihydroformamido-2-pyrrole carboxylic acid.

Journal of Thermal Analysis, 1987
Two phase diagrams of the L-citrulline-water system were obtained by using DTA on samples held in sealed glass ampoules. The first one exhibits only the anhydrous solid-liquid-vapour equilibrium, while the second one shows the peritectic decomposition reaction of L-citrulline dihydrate at 61‡.

The systemd-malic acid-l-citrulline
Thermochimica Acta, 1991Abstract The system d -malic acid- l -citrulline has been studied by differential thermal analysis and X-ray powder diffractometry. The 1:1 stoichiometry of the spontaneously forming binary compound was established by means of the Tammann method. This compound melts peritectically at 363 K (ΔπH= 26 kJ mol−1).

L-citrulline attenuates lipopolysaccharide-induced inflammatory lung injury in neonatal rats
Pediatric Research, 2023Prenatal or postnatal lung inflammation and oxidative stress disrupt alveolo-vascular development leading to bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) with and without pulmonary hypertension. L-citrulline (L-CIT), a nonessential amino acid, alleviates inflammatory and hyperoxic lung injury in preclinical models of BPD.

Nitrites and L-citrulline levels in copper intrauterine device users
Contraception, 1997The mechanism of copper in limiting intrauterine infections in intrauterine device (Cu IUD) users is poorly understood. Copper ions may enhance the release of reactive oxygen radicals, which in turn decrease the release of reactive nitrogen intermediates (RNI). RNI are known to have bactericidal effect.

Determination of Urinary L-citrulline by Enzymatic Method
Chinese Journal of Analytical Chemistry, 2006Abstract L -citrulline is an important marker in many diseases. A simple, accurate, and rapid enzymatic method is proposed for the determination of L -citrulline for its bioconversion by ornithine transcarbamoylase (OTC, EC 2.1.3.3) and carbamate kinase (CK, EC 2.7.2.2). The optimized conditions for the bioconversion were 30–35°C and pH 6–7.

Monoclonal L‐Citrulline Immunostaining Reveals Nitric Oxide‐Producing Vestibular Neurons
Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 2001Abstract: Nitric oxide is an unstable free radical that serves as a novel messenger molecule in the central nervous system (CNS). In order to understand the interplay between classic and novel chemical communication systems in vestibular pathways, the staining obtained using a monoclonal antibody directed against L‐citrulline was compared with the ...

Plasma l -citrulline concentrations in l -arginine–supplemented healthy dogs
Journal of Veterinary Cardiology, 2017To determine whether oral l-arginine increases plasma [l-citrulline] in dogs.Eleven healthy staff-owned dogs were used in this study.Dogs (n = 3) were given l-arginine (50mg/kg PO q8h) for 7 days, and plasma [l-arginine] and [l-citrulline] were analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography at baseline (BL), steady state trough, and 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2,

L-Citrulline immunostaining identifies nitric oxide production sites within neurons
Neuroscience, 2002The cellular and subcellular localization of L-citrulline was analyzed in the adult rat brain and compared with that of traditional markers for the presence of nitric oxide synthase. Light, transmission electron, and confocal laser scanning microscopy were used to study tissue sections processed for immunocytochemistry employing a monoclonal antibody ...
