Microneedle‐Based Biofuel Cell with MXene/CNT Hybrid Bioanode: Fundamental and Biomedical Application

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A hybrid microneedle‐based biofuel cell composed of MXene/CNT/glucose oxidase bioanode and platinum/carbon cathode was prepared for wearable transdermal charged drug delivery system. It harvests the subcutaneous interstitial fluid energy and exhibits a stable transdermal current of 4‐6 µA@5 kΩ.

A Secretory Protein Laccase lac8 From Pathogenic Fungi Activates Plant Protein 14-3-3 and Leucine-Rich Repeat Receptor-Like Protein LRR-RLP1 to Trigger Mango Immunity. [PDF]

open access: yesMol Plant Pathol
A secreted laccase Cglac8 from Colletotrichum gloeosporioides targets host mango protein 14‐3‐3 and leucine‐rich repeat receptor‐like protein LRR‐RLP1 to trigger an immune response by promoting the biosynthesis of phytohormones. ABSTRACT Plants cope with the biotic stress caused by pathogen infection through complex resistance mechanisms.

Toward Sustainable Pesticide Application: Bridging Efficacy and Food Safety

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A fully bio‐based lignin coacervate system is developed for pesticide delivery, enhancing leaf retention, UV resistance, adhesion, and wetting. The formulation enables pH/laccase‐triggered release for prolonged action, reduces ecological toxicity, and is fully washable, reconciling agricultural efficacy with food and environmental safety.

Production of a novel laccase from Ceratorhiza hydrophila and assessing its potential in natural dye fixation and cytotoxicity against tumor cells

open access: yesJournal of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, 2023
Background Flavonoid natural dyes have gained attention because they are nontoxic and eco-friendly. However, they do not work effectively with artificial fibers and require the use of mordants, which are considered as hazardous chemicals.

Metallothionein‐Inspired Asymmetric Heteroatom Doping of Single‐Atom Nanozymes for Multi‐Enzyme Biocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A metallothionein‐inspired heteroatom doping strategy is reported to construct asymmetric Fe single‐atom catalysts, which display markedly enhanced multi‐enzyme activities—including NADH oxidase‐, oxidase‐, peroxidase‐, and catalase‐like activities. This high multi‐enzyme efficiency arises from atomically dispersed Fe from biomineralization, the large ...

Chemical Modification of Laccase from Aspergillus oryzae and its Application in OCC Pulp

open access: yesBioResources, 2016
Laccase activity and stability were improved and modified through the interaction between laccase amino acid residues (e.g., amino groups (-NH2) and carboxyl groups (-COOH)) and the chemical reagents thiourea dioxide (TDO) and L-phenylalanine methyl ...

Putting Laccase Gene Differences on Genomic Level into Context: An Analysis of Botrytis cinerea Strains from Grapes

open access: yesMicroorganisms
One of the most important crop pathogens is Botrytis cinerea. It overcomes plant defenses using laccase, an enzyme which is frequently researched. Yet the differences between strains regarding their laccase activity is poorly understood.

Enhanced Surface Properties of Biochar Using Activation Strategies for Sustainable Dye Removal: A Review

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Water pollution due to hazardous dyes is a severe issue that requires investigation through sustainable and cost‐effective approaches. In the current scenario, biochar, a carbon‐rich material derived from biomass, has found significant importance as an alternative to traditional adsorbents like activated carbon.
