Complete Genome Sequence of Lacticaseibacillus paracasei Strain NSMJ15

open access: yesMicrobiology Resource Announcements, 2021
We report here the complete genome sequence of Lacticaseibacillus paracasei NSMJ15, isolated from makgeolli (a traditional Korean fermented liquor) and shown to have potentially probiotic characteristics. The genome consisted of a 2.79-Mbp chromosome contig and four plasmids having a total of 2,947 genes, including ...

Safety Evaluation and Anti-Inflammatory Efficacy of Lacticaseibacillus paracasei PS23

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2022
Lacticaseibacillus paracasei strain PS23 (PS23) exhibits some probiotic properties. In this study, a genomic analysis of PS23 revealed no genes related to virulence or antibiotic resistance. Moreover, ornithine decarboxylase activity was not detected in vitro. In addition, PS23 was sensitive to the tested antibiotics.

Antidiabetic and Hypolipidemic Properties of Newly Isolated Wild Lacticaseibacillus paracasei Strains in Mature Adipocytes

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
This study investigates the antidiabetic and hypolipidemic potential of newly isolated Lacticaseibacillus paracasei strains in mature adipocytes. Differentiated 3T3-L1 cells are treated with 10% cell-free supernatants (CFSs) from four autochthonous (wild)

Gut Microbiota Modulation by Lacticaseibacillus paracasei EFEL6501 Ameliorates Muscle Atrophy. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Microbiol Biotechnol
Probiotics play a crucial role in promoting host health by modulating the composition of the gut microbiota through the production of their own bioactive metabolites. The aim of the study was to investigate the anti-atrophic effects of Lacticaseibacillus paracasei EFEL6501 (EFEL6501) in dexamethasone (DEX)-treated C2C12 myotubes and a mouse model.

Postbiotic Potential of Heat-Killed Lacticaseibacillus paracasei HP7 in Functional Dyspepsia. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Microbiol Biotechnol
Functional dyspepsia (FD) is a complex gastrointestinal disorder involving impaired motility and digestive dysfunction. This study investigated the postbiotic potential of heat-killed Lacticaseibacillus paracasei HP7 (HP7) in a loperamide-induced FD mouse model.
