Critical Reviews in Biotechnology, 1997
This review describes Lactobacillus plasmids on distribution, structure, function, vector construction, vector stability, application, and prospective. About 38% of species of the genus Lactobacillus were found to contain plasmids with different sizes (from 1.2 to 150 kb) and varied numbers (1 or more). Some Lactobacillus plasmids with small sizes were

Two cases of endocarditis due to Lactobacillus plantarum and Lactobacillus casei var. rhamnosus are described. Both patients were successfully treated medically. The response of the two isolates to a range of concentrations of penicillin in an apparatus which continuously monitored growth is reported. The strain of L. casei var.

Characterization and identification of strain CW 1 ( = JCM 17161) isolated from corn silage were performed. Strain CW 1 was a Gram-positive, catalase-negative and homofermentative rod that produced the dl-form of lactic acid. This strain exhibited more than 99.6 % 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity and greater than 82 % DNA–DNA reassociation with type ...

The main purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of Lactobacillus 12 and Lactobacillus rhamnosus as both cells and biomasses for the removal of dye from real textile dyeing wastewater. The removal experiments were conducted according to the Box-Behnken experimental design, and the regression equations for the removal of dye were ...

Lactobacillus delbrueckii Group ☆
2016Based on the first phylogenetic analysis of lactobacilli performed in the early 1990s, the genus Lactobacillus was divided into three groups: the Lactobacillus delbrueckii group, the Lactobacillus casei pediococcus group, and the Leuconostoc group. The phylogenetic Lb. delbrueckii group referred to Lb. delbrueckii and other species such as Lb.

[Bacteriocin properties of Lactobacillus fermenti, Lactobacillus brevis and Lactobacillus buchneri].
Antibiotiki, 1980Four bacteriocins of L. fermenti, 3 bacteriocins of L. brevis and 1 bacteriocin of L. buchneri were studied with respect to morphology of the inhibition growth zones of the indicator strains, capacity for diffusion through cellophane, sensitivity to high temperature, bacterial proteases, trypsin, chymotrypsin, pepsin, papain, nucleases and lysozyme ...
