Phospholipids of Lactobacillus spp [PDF]
Lactobacillus phospholipid molecular species were analyzed by mass spectrometry. Prominent anions were consistent with presence of the phosphatidylglycerols PG(37:2), PG(36:2), PG(35:1), PG(34:1), and PG(33:1). Diglycosyldiacylglycerol molecular species were also observed, although nitrogen-containing phospholipids were absent.

Tryptophan metabolite Indole‐3‐aldehyde (I3A) downregulates cytosolic AhR and p‐ERK/c‐MYC proteins, together enhancing STAT3 phosphorylation and tumor immunogenicity. Overexpression of the Trp metabolic enzyme interleukin‐4‐induced gene‐1 (IL4I1) in tumor cells increases intracellular levels of I3A and enhances tumor immunogenicity.

In vitro fermentation of galactosyl derivatives of polyols by Lactobacillus strains
Probiotic lactic acid bacteria belonging to the species Lactobacillus casei, Lb. paracasei, and Lb. acidophilus were cultivated in the presence of galactosyl derivatives of erythritol, xylitol, and sorbitol, as well as the polyols themselves: erythritol,

Nicotine Reprograms Aging‐Related Metabolism and Protects Against Motor Decline in Mice
Long‐term oral nicotine intake protects against age‐related motor decline in mice without eliciting systemic toxicity. Integrated multi‐organ metabolomic profiling and longitudinal gut microbiota analyses reveal that nicotine induces coordinated remodeling of glycolipid and sphingolipid metabolism, enhances NAD⁺ bioavailability, and suppresses ceramide

Lactobacillus arizonensis is a later heterotypic synonym of Lactobacillus plantarum [PDF]
The ‘Lactobacillus plantarum group’ encompasses the taxa Lactobacillus plantarum subsp. plantarum, Lactobacillus plantarum subsp. argentoratensis, Lactobacillus paraplantarum, Lactobacillus pentosus and Lactobacillus arizonensis. In this study, the phylogenetic position of L. arizonensis was examined using 16S rRNA gene-specific methodologies (16S rRNA

An integral functional axis through which GPN and functional metabolites of Alistipes senegalensis can hydrolyze tryptophan into indoles. Furthermore, the Alistipes senegalensis‐indole‐AhR pathway is found to be associated with increased expression of tight junction‐associated proteins and activation of gut stem cells.

Selective Enumeration of Lactobacillus delbrueckii ssp. bulgaricus, Streptococcus thermophilus, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacteria, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, and Propionibacteria [PDF]
Nineteen bacteriological media were evaluated to assess their suitability to selectively enumerate Lactobacillus delbrueckii ssp. bulgaricus, Streptococcus thermophilus, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus acidophilus, bifidobacteria, and propionibacteria. Bacteriological media evaluated included Streptococcus thermophilus agar,
