Modification of polymer backbone via halogenation and comonomer selection leads to conjugated backbones of different stereoelectronic properties, thin film morphologies, and electrical characteristics. The interplay of conformational isomerism, coplanarity, backbone curvature, backbone orientation, and ordering in thin films, electrical conductivity ...

Photochemical Approaches to Complex Chemotypes: Applications in Natural Product Synthesis. [PDF]
The use of photochemical transformations is a powerful strategy that allows for the formation of a high degree of molecular complexity from relatively simple building blocks in a single step. A central feature of all light-promoted transformations is the

Synthesis of Crosslinked Biopolyesters Catalyzed by Natural Amino Acids
Highly crosslinked bio‐polyesters were synthesized via the ROCOP reaction between epoxidized sunflower oil and biobased cyclic anhydrides. The resulting materials were comprehensively characterized by FT‐IR, TGA, and DSC. A cross‐linked network in the bio‐based polymers has been confirmed by dynamic mechanical analysis.

We present an asymmetric formal synthesis of pseudolaric acid B, for which we developed a new family of substrates with an epoxide geminally tethered to a sidechain bearing a furan, which undergoes a TESOTf‐catalyzed intramolecular (4+3) cycloaddition to yield the trans‐fused perhydroazulene core and the requisite quaternary stereocenter of the natural
