An ecological framework for microbial metabolites in the ocean ecosystem

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography Letters, EarlyView.
Abstract The ocean microbe‐metabolite network involves thousands of individual metabolites that encompass a breadth of chemical diversity and biological functions. These microbial metabolites mediate biogeochemical cycles, facilitate ecological relationships, and impact ecosystem health. While analytical advancements have begun to illuminate such roles,

Self‐Assembly Pathway Influence on Dehydropeptide‐Based Gel Properties and Drug Release

open access: yesMacromolecular Bioscience, EarlyView.
In this work, it is explored how the gelation conditions affect the morphology, mechanical properties, and drug release of dehydropeptide‐based gels. The naphthalene‐capped dehydropeptide forms a crystal structure with a pore diameter of ≈4.08 Å. Gelation conditions can influence gel stiffness by nearly three orders of magnitude, in which the assembly ...

Lauric Acid Based Composite Phase Change Materials Form‐Stabilized with Highly Crosslinked Polymer for Thermal Energy Storage

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, EarlyView.
The design of a composite phase change material (PCM) suitable for low‐temperature thermal energy storage (TES) systems is performed. For this purpose, highly cross‐linked polymer frameworks with a surface area of 76.26 m2 g−1 are prepared by Friedel‐Crafts alkylation reaction.
