Tolerability, gastric emptying patterns, and symptoms during the Nottingham Test Meal in 330 secondary care non‐diabetic dyspeptic patients

open access: yesNeurogastroenterology &Motility, Volume 34, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
The Nottingham Test Meal is a simple, practical, and well‐tolerated test meal for clinical assessment of gastric emptying in patients with dyspepsia. A range of abnormal gastric emptying patterns for a typical cohort of patients using this meal are presented in this graphical abstract.

Enhancing Multi‐Enzyme Cascade Activity in Metal‐Organic Frameworks via Controlled Enzyme Encapsulation

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A sequential strategy is developed for controlled encapsulation of multi‐enzymes within a core‐shell structure in metal‐organic frameworks. The results demonstrate that multi‐enzyme cascade activity is significantly enhanced due to the optimal spatial arrangement, increased surface area, and improved enzymes conformation. Additionally, the encapsulated

Impact of the Replacement of Pitch Binder by the Environmentally Friendly Binder System Based on Lactose and Tannin on the Properties of Carbon‐Bonded Alumina Filters

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
To improve the environmental sustainability of carbon‐bonded alumina filters, the replacement of coal tar pitch by an environment‐friendly binder system based on lactose and tannin is investigated. According to the results of the (thermo)mechanical filter properties, total carbon content, and microstructure, filter structures based on lactose/tannin ...

Organic Terahertz Generators with Wide Entire‐Molecular Phonon‐Free Range and Their Application in Broadband Terahertz Spectroscopy

open access: yesSmall Structures, EarlyView.
Fluorinated organic crystals with orthogonal cation–anion dipole coupling generate significantly higher and broader THz waves (0.5−2.7 THz) than nonfluorinated benchmark counterparts with a smooth, dimple‐free spectrum. Their wide phonon‐free region (0.9–2.3 THz) enables sensitive detection of biologically important lactose in commercial infant ...
