Despite several studies highlighted the importance of considering gender in online learning, the current literature about how male and female students would behave is still fragmented. Additionally, little attention has been paid to investigating the impact of gender on online learning behavioral patterns.

Lag Sequential Analysis Using Pronet: Effects of Series Length and Noise
Proceedings of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society Annual Meeting, 2005Procedural Networks (ProNet) is presented as a form of lag sequential analysis, but using the Pathfinder algorithm as its kernel. In general, Lag Sequential Analysis is a tool used to identify representative chains of events in a time series of event data. A simulation is used to compare the performance of ProNet, as sample size and noise are varied in

A Study of Users’ Reactions to a Mixed Online Discussion Model: A Lag Sequential Analysis Approach
International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction, 2015There is an increasing growth of Social Network Services (SNSs). A variety of SNSs are applied in online interpersonal platforms. Among them, asynchronous and synchronous discussions are widely examined. However, there is a lack of research into the effects of integrated discussion services that combines asynchronous and synchronous discussions.

Autism Research, 2023
AbstractRecasting is the adult rephrasing of a child's immediately preceding utterance. It has been shown to have outstanding effects on promoting language development in autistic children. This study used lag sequential analysis to explore the impact of mothers' conversational styles on the communicative behavior of autistic children when using ...

This paper investigates the elementary students’ problem-solving behavior patterns using the lag sequential analysis. 90 students in grade 5 were required to develop their own solution to the task in an online assessment system and all their interactive behaviors were recorded and then coded for sequential analysis.

Antecedents and Consequences of Awkward Silence A Replication Using Revised Lag Sequential Analysis
Human Communication Research, 1986McLaughlin and Cody's (1982) study of antecedents and consequences of awkward silence is replicated in this study. McLaughlin and Cody concluded that behavioral sequences before silence in dyads with multiple silences were characterized by a pattern of minimal response by one participant.
