Background Fluoroscopy is considered the most accurate method to evaluate the diaphragm, yet most existing methods for measuring diaphragmatic mobility using fluoroscopy are complex.

AGE-modified basement membrane cooperates with Endo180 to promote epithelial cell invasiveness and decrease prostate cancer survival [PDF]
Biomechanical strain imposed by age-related thickening of the basal lamina and augmented tissue stiffness in the prostate gland coincides with increased cancer risk. Here we hypothesized that the structural alterations in the basal lamina associated with

Glomerular Basement Membrane: Lamina rara, Lamina densa
Electron immunohistochemical and histochemical studies of glomerular and tubular basement membranes were undertaken to elucidate the relationship between lamina rara and lamina densa. Our results indicate that the lamina rara is not a fixation artifact and it has common antigenic determinants with lamina densa (type IV collagen antigens).

The Concept of Lamina–Pedicle Perpendicularity: Part 2: Thoracic Spine [PDF]
Study Design Retrospective radiographic study. Purpose The hypothesis of this study was that the pedicle axis (PA) is almost perpendicular to the interlaminar line (ILL) in the sagittal plane of the thoracic vertebrae.

The organisation of spinoparabrachial neurons in the mouse [PDF]
The anterolateral tract (ALT), which originates from neurons in lamina I and the deep dorsal horn, represents a major ascending output through which nociceptive information is transmitted to brain areas involved in pain perception.

Projection neurons in lamina III of the rat spinal cord are selectively innervated by local dynorphin-containing excitatory neurons [PDF]
Large projection neurons in lamina III of the rat spinal cord that express the neurokinin 1 receptor are densely innervated by peptidergic primary afferent nociceptors and more sparsely by low-threshold myelinated afferents. However, we know little about

Actin assembly ruptures the nuclear envelope by prying the lamina away from nuclear pores and nuclear membranes in starfish oocytes. [PDF]
The nucleus of oocytes (germinal vesicle) is unusually large and its nuclear envelope (NE) is densely packed with nuclear pore complexes (NPCs) stockpiled for embryonic development. We showed that breakdown of this specialized NE is mediated by an Arp2/3-
