What Do Large Language Models Know About Materials?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
If large language models (LLMs) are to be used inside the material discovery and engineering process, they must be benchmarked for the accurateness of intrinsic material knowledge. The current work introduces 1) a reasoning process through the processing–structure–property–performance chain and 2) a tool for benchmarking knowledge of LLMs concerning ...

Genome-Wide Analyses of MADS-Box Genes Reveal Their Involvement in Seed Development and Oil Accumulation of Tea-Oil Tree (Camellia oleifera)

open access: yesInternational Journal of Genomics
The seeds of Camellia oleifera produce high amount of oil, which can be broadly used in the fields of food, industry, and medicine. However, the molecular regulation mechanisms of seed development and oil accumulation in C. oleifera are unclear.

Hybrid Auxetic Architectures: Integrating Curvature‐Driven Design for Enhanced Mechanical Tunability and Structural Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Curvature‐tuned auxetic lattices are designed, fabricated, and mechanically characterized to reveal how geometric curvature governs stretchability, stress redistribution, and Poisson's ratio evolution. Photoelastic experiments visualize stress pathways, while hyperelastic simulations quantify deformation mechanics.

Low concentrations of methyl jasmonate promote plant growth and mitigate Cd toxicity in Cosmos bipinnatus

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology
Cadmium (Cd) is a biologically non-essential heavy metal, a major soil pollutant, and extremely harmful to plants. The phytohormone methyl jasmonate (MeJA) plays an important role in plant heavy-metal resistance. However, the understanding of the effects

Isolation and functional analysis of MxNAS3 involved in enhanced iron stress tolerance and abnormal flower in transgenic Arabidopsis

open access: yesJournal of Plant Interactions, 2018
Metal trace elements, such as Fe, Zn, and Mn, are necessary micronutrients required by all plants. In this study, the MxNAS3 gene was cloned from Malus xiaojinensis and MxNAS3 was localized in the cytoplasmic membrane.
