Thermal Feedback for Simulated Lane Change Scenarios [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mobile Human Computer Interaction, 2019
Most research into haptic feedback for in-car applications has used vibrotactile feedback. In this article, two simulator studies investigate novel thermal feedback during driving for a lane change task. The distraction and time differences of audio and thermal feedback were investigated in the first, with results showing that thermal feedback does not

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

A state dependent mandatory lane-changing model for urban arterials with hidden markov model method

open access: yesInternational Journal of Transportation Science and Technology, 2019
The inherent intention and decision process of lane changes are complex. Though the external environment and traffic conditions are changing along the traveling direction, the drivers’ characteristics and preferences may lead to persistence of preferable

Modeling and Simulation of Multi-Lane Traffic Flow

open access: yes, 1998
A most important aspect in the field of traffic modeling is the simulation of bottleneck situations. For their realistic description a macroscopic multi-lane model for uni-directional freeways including acceleration, deceleration, velocity fluctuations ...

ATP13A2 is involved in intracellular polyamine transport in lung epithelial cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Spermidine transport in lung epithelial cells involves the polyamine transporter ATP13A2. Cell proliferation is associated with the upregulation of ATP13A2. Polyamines are present in all living cells and are implicated in various crucial cellular processes such as proliferation, apoptosis and autophagy.

Planning flexible and smooth paths for lane‐changing manoeuvres of autonomous vehicles

open access: yesIET Intelligent Transport Systems, 2021
Lane‐changing manoeuvres are essential for daily driving tasks. Safety and comfort are the primary issues to be considered during the lane‐changing manoeuvres of autonomous vehicles. However, because the traffic environment is complicated and changeable,

A proactive lane-changing risk prediction framework considering driving intention recognition and different lane-changing patterns

open access: yesAccident Analysis & Prevention, 2022
Proactive lane-changing (LC) risk prediction can assist driver's LC decision-making to ensure driving safety. However, most previous studies on LC risk prediction did not consider the driver's intention recognition, which made it difficult to guarantee the timeliness and practicability of LC risk prediction.

FGFR Like1 drives esophageal cancer progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and notch signalling: insights from clinical data and next‐generation sequencing analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Clinical analysis reveals significant dysregulation of FGFRL1 in esophageal cancer (EC) patients. RNAi‐coupled next‐generation sequencing (NGS) and in vitro study reveal FGFRL1‐mediated EC progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and Notch pathways. Functional assays confirm its role in tumor growth, migration, and invasion.

Measuring traffic flow and lane changing from semi-automatic video processing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Comprehensive databases are needed in order to extend our knowledge on the behavior of vehicular traffic. Nevertheless data coming from common traffic detectors is incomplete. Detectors only provide vehicle count, detector occupancy and speed at discrete
