An analysis of driver's workload in the lane change behavior

2013 International Conference on ICT Convergence (ICTC), 2013
In this paper, we measured and analyzed the driver's EEG for lane change behavior to measure and quantify drivers' workload. The experiment took place in the real road. We extracted the reference and the lane change behavior section and calculated the EEG variation rates from the EEG values.

Lane Changing Interaction Behavior and Model

CICTP 2015, 2015
Lane changing models are an essential component of microscopic traffic simulation. This paper considered the interaction among vehicles and investigated the lane changing interaction characteristics of vehicles and models of dynamic relationship by introducing the following required safe distance.

Modeling Integrated Lane-Changing Behavior

Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2003
The lane-changing model is an important component within microscopic traffic simulation tools. Following the emergence of these tools in recent years, interest in the development of more reliable lane-changing models has increased. Lane-changing behavior is also important in several other applications such as capacity analysis and safety studies.

Complex Lane Change Behavior in the Foresighted Driver Model

2015 IEEE 18th International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems, 2015
This paper presents a general model for lane-change decision and dynamic lane change behavior based on the Foresighted Driver Model. Differently to previous models, it does not rely on indirect features like gap lengths, TTC or decelerations, but it models the lane change process by explicitly calculating the involved risks and benefits of the ...

General behavior and motion model for automated lane change

2015 IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium (IV), 2015
Lane change maneuver is a cause for many severe highway accidents and automatic lane change has great potentials to reduce the impact of human error and number of accidents. Previous researches mostly tried to find an optimal trajectory and ignore the behavior model.

Recognition of fast lane changing behavior

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2014
Aiming at the lane change behavior recognition requirements of lane change warning system, natural lane change samples were captured by using a test vehicle. Steering angle and distance between vehicle and lane mark were used as characteristic parameters of lane change behavior.

Lane-changing behavior on highways

Physical Review E, 2002
We study the lane-changing behavior in multilane highway modeling by a cellular automaton. We analyze the effects of speed limit and stochastic noise. A new parameter is introduced to allow vehicles not to change lanes even when the environmental criteria are met.

Safety analysis of taxi lane changing behavior

5th Advanced Forum on Transportation of China (AFTC 2009), 2009
Taxi, by providing flexible and convenient service, becomes one of the most importation modes of passenger transport. However, the increasing popular of taxi has brought several problems to urban traffic. The current study is to explore the characteristics and safety of taxi lane changing behavior on urban road.

Identification of Lane-Changing Behavior Oriented to Behavioral Early Warning

2018 10th International Conference on Measuring Technology and Mechatronics Automation (ICMTMA), 2018
The driver lane change process is divided into two parts: lane change awareness formation and behavior implementation. Considering that the intrinsic factors of assessing the status and ability of drivers and the external traffic environment factors will affect the entire lane changing process independently rather than being independent and non ...
