Understanding the human behaviors in driving is a highly complex topic but on the other hand, extremely important for improving human's driving competence by developing driver assistant systems accordingly and finally accomplishing fully autonomous vehicles and road systems. There are many excellent researches in this area for decades.

Investigating Improper Lane Changes: Driver Performance Contributing to Lane Change Near-Crashes
Proceedings of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society Annual Meeting, 2012We investigated the contributing factors that led to the lane change near-crashes recorded in the 100-Car Naturalistic Driving Study using a case-crossover experimental design. Drivers’ visual behavior and vehicle control were compared across a sample of lane change near-crashes and matched baselines.

A method of searching lane in lane-change
2010 2nd IEEE InternationalConference on Network Infrastructure and Digital Content, 2010In image processing of LDWS (Lane Departure Warning Systems), the useful image information is the lane part, but sometimes the road image don't include lane, especially when the LDWS initialization. In steer process, as the lane-change often occur, the lane information may be computed by error, or lost in track lane process, consequently this process ...

Changing Lanes: A Reanimation of Shell Oil’s Carol Lane
2021This digital dissertation, “Changing Lanes: A Reanimation of Shell Oil’s Carol Lane,” is a case study of a mid-20th-century public relations (PR) program, sponsored by Shell Oil and Shell Canada, that targeted American and Canadian women motorists. From 1947 to 1974, Carol Lane was Women’s Travel Director for Shell Oil Company and the face and voice of

Unsafe lane changes have been identified as a common factor in motor vehicle accidents. It would be helpful, particularly for automated vehicles, to know if there are behaviors of vehicles, beyond a directional signal, or characteristics of the traffic environment that correlated with a higher probability of an unsafe lane change (lane changes without ...
