Do neutrinos dream in 5D? Towards a comprehensive extra-dimensional neutrino phenomenology

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
This paper provides a comprehensive overview of neutrino masses and mixing in Large Extra Dimension scenarios, focusing on the phenomenological impact of a five-dimensional (5D) bulk fermion.

Interpreting the 3 TeV WH resonance as a W′ boson

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
Motivated by a local 3.2 − 3.4 sigma resonance in WH and ZH in the ATLAS Run 2 data, we attempt to interpret the excess in terms of a W′ boson in a SU(2)1 × SU(2)2×U(1)X model. We stretch the deviation from the alignment limit of the Equivalence Theorem,

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Light scalar spectrum in extra-dimensional gauge theories

open access: yes, 2012
The phase diagram of five-dimensional SU(2) gauge theories with one compactified dimension on anisotropic lattices has a rich structure. In this contribution we show how to control non-perturbatively the scale hierarchy between the cut-off and the ...

Cosmological constraints on theories with large extra dimensions [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
In theories with large extra dimensions, constraints from cosmology lead to non-trivial lower bounds on the gravitational scale M, corresponding to upper bounds on the radii of the compact extra dimensions.

Emerging insights into CC and CXC chemokines and their receptors in Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The dual roles of CC and CXC chemokines in distinguishing active, latent, and subclinical tuberculosis were reviewed, along with an evaluation of their potential as diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets to advance precision medicine in tuberculosis management. The graphical abstract was generated with AI assistance (Gemini 3.0).

ICTP Lectures on Large Extra Dimensions

open access: yes, 2003
I give a brief and elementary introduction to braneworld models with large extra dimensions. Three conceptually distinct scenarios are outlined: (i) Large compact extra dimensions; (ii) Warped extra dimensions; (iii) Infinite-volume extra dimensions.

D-branes, String Cosmology and Large Extra Dimensions

open access: yes, 1999
D-branes are fundamental in all scenarios where there are large extra dimensions and the string scale is much smaller than the four-dimensional Planck mass.

Transcripts enriched in codons that trigger P‐site tRNA‐mediated mRNA decay possess stable mRNA

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
PTMD codons were first described by Mendel et al. as mediators of an mRNA decay pathway dependent on the human protein CNOT3, homologous to yeast Not5. Our findings confirm that PTMD codons destabilize transcripts; however, unlike in yeast, the human pathway specifically targets and slightly destabilizes primarily stable mRNAs.

Neutrino anomalies and large extra dimensions

open access: yes, 2001
Theories with large extra dimensions can generate small neutrino masses when the standard model neutrinos are coupled to singlet fermions propagating in higher dimensions.
